the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.

buy a fan for your xbox 360, if it continues contact microsoft and see if they have a solution, it could be an internal problem that needs repairing, i have the same problem but i am going to get a fan which will cool the 360, and reduce the chance of my 360 breaking

OK, I think I can slove your problem.
There is a slide setting thing on your av cord that gives you the option of using TV or HDTV (look near the end of the cord that slides into the XBOX 360), You will see two choices for settings on the cord "TV" or "HDTV".
Just make sure that you have it on the correct setting. I had the smae problem. My XBOX 360 is not hooked up to HDTV, so for me it should stay on TV. But somehow when I took out the cord I accidently slide it to HDTV.
I simply slide it back to the "TV" Setting and in about 30 seconds it worked perfectly.
I hope this helps you.

SOURCE: Xbox 360 Disk Failure
dependant on how old the console is, the amount of hours played, and wether it,s in a dusty or smokey enviroment, can all be known factors of laser wear or dirty laser head.
if you eject the dvd drawer, and blow into the top of the cd/dvd draw you may move or dislodge any dust. secondly i,d try a laser head cleaning disk. these are the options without actually dismantling the console ( which will void any warranty ) failing this you could remove the dvd drive, and clean the laser head with a cotton bud/Swab moistened not soaked with lighter fluid or isopropyl alcohol.
if none of this works out, you can assume the dvds laser or drive mechanism is faulty or worn..
hope this helps you to get up and running again.
