Question about Philips VOIP8411B/37 IP Phone

1 Answer

Phone does not work for teleconference services that require a pin number

The phone does not work for teleconference services that require a primary number then entry of a pin number, i.e. AT&T teleconference services. I thought this phone would be a great work from home option using SKYPE. Last month I hit 1700 minutes with my cell phone, primarily for work-related calls using AT&T teleconferencing services. It seemed like the Philips VOIP8411B would be a great alternative to the high cost of per minute cell phone charges.  It would be except the phone doesn't recognize the secondary pin number that has to be entered once the call is answered by an automated voice asking for the pin number.  Too bad!  Nice looking phone and good sound quality otherwise.  For now, just using the computer for work-related calls and sounding like I am in the bottom of a barrel somewhere.

Re: Phone does not work for teleconference services that...

I've found dialing numbers to navigate automated answering systems through Skype to be unreliable in general. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. This holds true for using the numpad on the keyboard, my free-1 usb skype phone, AND now the new Philips VOIP8411B I got in the mail yesterday. I'm not surprised that the Philips doesn't work, since I've had the problem before, but still disappointed...

The only way I've been able to work around this problem is to make the call on the computer and dial numbers through the on-screen number pad (using my mouse) to get through automated systems that don't work with a handheld device. Yes, this defeats the puprose of buying and using all these cool gadgets like the Philips and the free-1, but only for these certain types of calls. And even when I use the on-screen number pad, it still doesn't work sometimes. That's when I start punching numbers frantically and hoping a real person will pick up the line... lol

@Pat56 - If you use teleconferencing so much, maybe it would be best just to do it through the computer with a USB headset instead of using the Philips VOIP8411B...? Just a thought.

Cannot reset my pin

You need the replacement PIN code if you already used the same extension number on your system. Example: *32 to set or *33 to replace. If this doesn't work contact your administrator or your qualified dealer.

Security code of nokia 1280 imei:354308043190395 plzzz help me i tried all solutions

Let me give you a little background and then some solutions. This is generic because I don't know your carrier. I'm useing ATT as an example.

Phones are naturally unlocked, but a service provider might lock them

When originally manufactured, all GSM cell phones are unlocked. That is, they can be used with any SIM from any cellphone service provider - always assuming, of course, that the cellphone service provider has compatible GSM service on the same frequency bands that the phone can operate on.

Most cell phone service providers electronically 'lock' the phone so that it can only be used with their service. There are obvious reasons why they choose to do this - in particular, to force you to pay what are usually very high roaming charges when you take your phone out of their network and use it elsewhere in the world.

Fortunately, this locking is reversible. With some phones, it is possible to simply enter an unlocking password code into the phone and it is immediately then unlocked. Other phones need to be connected up to a special unlocking data terminal.

Your phone has to be unlocked by the carrier. LG, Motorala, Sony Ericsson, Nokia and most of their ilk, will not give consumers the unlock codes but don't despair.

A PUK (PIN Unlock Key) code is required to unlock SIM cards that have become locked following three successive incorrect PIN entries. If your SIM card becomes locked, you will need to get a PUK code from your carrier. For example, if you have AT&T to unlock your SIM card, you can obtain your phone's PUK code from AT&T by:

● logging in to your myWireless Account online
● using their Technical Support Chat
● calling Customer Care at 1-800-331-0500

To get your phone's PUK code online from ATT:

● Log in to your myWireless Account.
● Select My Services under My Account.
● From the My Services screen, select My Phone/Device.
● Select Unblock SIM Card.
● The Unblock SIM screen will display your PUK code.

Once you receive your PUK code, you will need to enter it into your phone to set a new PIN code.

Note: If you enter the wrong ATT PUK code 10 times in a row, your SIM card will be invalidated, and you will need to purchase a new SIM Card. The phone will display the following error: "PUK blocked call operator."

There are three other ways to unlock a phone:

● The carrier will unlock the phone for you at one of its retail outlets;
● You can do it yourself by clicking on this link Free Unlock Codes ,
● Pay $3.89 at the following website:

I trust that this is helpful and solves your problem. All the best

We have a Mitel 5330 IP at work and it's asking for a PIN to be entered when it is first booted up, ie, enter the PIN then the hold button. This is as far as we can get. This is the only model of the...

The PIN should be something like ***+ext number, then press hold. *** is mitel's default code. The code is definable and many companies, including mine, uses a different code.

My lg360 is asking for a puk code, telling me to ring 999.

PUKs, or personal unblocking keys, are used to unblock a mobile phone which becomes blocked. Mobile phones may become blocked when a PIN (personal identification number) is entered incorrectly on three consecutive occasions. In some instances, the phone may become blocked, which requires a PUK to unblock it, and in other instances, the SIM (Subscriber Identity Module) card itself becomes blocked and again will require a PUK to unblock it.
Mobile phones are also blocked when they are reported stolen and if there is an outstanding payment on the account.
It is important to differentiate between unblocking phones (using a PUK) and unlocking mobile phones (using another type of code). More information on unlocking phones will be available here in the very near future.
NOTE: It is a criminal offence for anyone to attempt to unblock a mobile phone, other than the network provider who put the block on the phone.
If your phone has become blocked by mistake, for example you have entered the PIN incorrectly on three consecutive occasions, then you need to contact the mobile phone network operator with your details. To explain a little more, specific to your mobile phone network, use the links above to navigate your way to the specific PUK details for your mobile phone network operator.

Log In Mitel 5212 IP Phone trouble

Hi this is probably because the phone has gone to Hotdesk mode and your company blocks hotdesk phones from making external calls. You will need to log back into the phone. If you know your extention number you can press *96 on the phone you then need to enter your extention number and press # you then need to enter a pin number. If you do not know your oin or have not been given one try pressing # again if the phone reasks for the pin you will need to contact your systems administrator to reset your pin - Hope this helps (ps *97 loggs the phone out)
