SOURCE: can't change image quality

The problem is that only "fine photo pro" is available when the paper selected is photo paper. Change source to the sheet feeder, hit the "Paper" button and then select normal paper. You'll then be able to change the quality to normal.

SOURCE: Print quality

Paper type must be set to "Plain" to select Normal or Fast for Print Quality. Every other paper type selected will automatically set print quality to Fine (Photo).

How to get the photo fine pro setting off a Canon pixma MP 780 my printer is working very slowly in the copy section and printing blue.

Here is the link to the manual for this printer.
On the Quick Start guide, it says that you control the copy and fax image quality with the Image Quality button. If you do not know which button that is, download the Quick Start guide and it will show you.

Basically you want to simply push the Image Quality button until you get the quality you want for the copy you are making.

As far as blue printing, read the maintenance section of the guide and it should help you fix that.

If I scan a photo using my HP C5180 All-In-One printer, can I go back later and enlarge that scanned photo? I haven't monkeyed around with it too much, and I thought I would aske first.

Hello - Yes you can. You would just need some photo editing software (some probably came with the printer.) If not I recommend you download a copy of Photoscape here. It's freeware and does a beautiful job.
One thing to be aware of is that as you enlarge a digital image it will loose image quality, the larger it gets the worse the quality. For bumping it up a bit it will look fine.
Hope That Helps, Mikeywaf

How to enlarge scanned photo.

Set your scanner to scan at 600dpi.  That will give you a 8x12 image at 300dpi (print quality- your image never needs to be more than 300dpi).

Then use your favourite image editor to crop the image to 8x10.  If you don't have a favourite image editor, XNView (free) will do it:
http://www.xnview.com/

-Open the image in XNView
-Right click on the image, select "Set Selection Ratio --> 5:4"
-With your left mouse button, drag a square on the image...this will automatically scale so it chops the unwanted 2" off
-When the square is selecting the bit you want to keep, select "Edit --> Crop"
-Then we need to change the image from 600dpi to 300 dpi:
-Select "Image --> Resize"
-Uncheck the "Resample" and "Keep print size"
-"Keep ratio" should be checked
-Change the 600 in the "Units" box to 300; the setting unit should be "Pixels per Inch"
-Print

Image Size
The image size and quality setting determines the number of photos that can be saved and the amount of
memory required for each photo. The higher the photo quality the more memory it will use up. The image size
and quality will also affect the maximum size you can print your photo effectively. To set the Image size:
1. Press the Menu button.
2. Press Right/Left button to select the Image Size mode.

3. Press the Up/Down button to select the desired image size.
4. Press the Menu button to confirm, save and exit to standby mode.
If this still doesn't work, press the menu button twice.
