Battery not charging

China made ThL W100 model less than 6 months under warranty. Yesterday, got replacement of phone from seller. Problem: Battery indicator shows is charging when plugged. But no improvement in battery charging %. Instead battery draining out. Changed with spare battery. Also same problem. Changed with different charger. Same problem. Plugged to laptop. Same problem. SOURCE: cect i9 wont charge battery is fine

The I9 battery charger is th problem. There is a small tab on the bottom edge of the batery that allow it to clip in the phone. This tab prevents the battery from going all the way into the charger which causes a missalignment with the contacts and due to the contacts being very thin they tend to break off. If this happens you must use the USB cable to charge the phone, it plugs in under the charger. If your contacts are good you can take a thin knife and ease the tab over the edge of the plastic lip on the charger alowing the battery to seat correctly in the charger making the proper connection.

battery may show fully charged while charging, but it can noot hold the charge. So you need a new battery. If under warranty ask Verizon for replacement.

Not charging

Samsung Cell Phone: Not charging:

1) It could be the battery.. If the battery can be taken out, do a spin test on a flat table to see if it is overly bloated / overly charged. I can tell how old the battery is from spinning it. (I'm a Samsung troubleshooter)

New battery does better on the spin test

2) Even if the battery spins really fast, it does not mean that the battery is dead. If the battery wobbles when you put it flat on the table, this means that it is bloated and needs to be replaced.

3) On the side of the battery connectors there should be a little white sticker.. If it is RED that means that there is a possibility that this battery was infected by water.. it could also mean that you touched the battery white sticker with wet hands. If it doesn't have a white/red sticker on it, don't panic.. it means that it is a China replacement battery and is not OEM. If it was red, it might be time to replace it. This sticker is for liquid detection. It is one of the first things a repair center will look at to determine if the device is fixable under warranty.
4) Check the charging cable. If you tend to wrap the cables or step on it or bend it this way and that way a lot.. over time these cables will wear out. Try another charging cable to see if it will work. If the charging cable works to charge other devices then you can rule this out.

5) If the charging cable does not work.. but when the charging cable is put in a different charging adapter and works for other devices except yours, it may be your charging adapter that is at fault.

6) If all this works.. but your phone still isn't charging, check to see if your charging port on your device has any lint or dirt stuck inside.. Use a plastic dental brush with tiny bristles and no metal at the tip.. a toothpick is not thin enough to get in there.. there must not be any metal in this tip, because you don't want to short the charging port out while you are doing this. So, power off the phone before you start digging around.. if you just use a compressed air you will just push in the particles deeper into the cavity and nothing will come out except dust if any.

If you decided to buy a replacement battery.. I recommend getting a cheap China made battery with the separate wall adapter only if you can wait a month to get it, because that's how long it will take, 4 weeks.. and typically can be obtained for anywhere between $5 to $24 depending on where the eBay Seller is located from.
7) If no lint comes out of the charging port.. it is clean.. and you have tried everything listed above.. charging cables/adapter works fine.. You've charged the new replacement battery with the wall adapter charger and the phone works.. but the battery still can't be charged by plugging in the phone.. then by process of elimination we can determine that it is the charging port on your phone that needs to be replaced. This will cost anywhere between $35 and $50 to replace at any local cell phone repair shop.

My AT&T Blackberry Curve does not charge anymore, is it the battery or the...

Here a series of useful answers to common questions asked when an At&T Blackberry is not charging anymore.

1. My Blackberry is not charging anymore. Is it the battery or the charger?

Possible reasons are faulty battery, defective charger, bad contact on phone socket to charger.

When it is a charger problem, or a bad contact to charger, the phone will not detect that the battery charger is connected.

When the problem is the battery, usually you can see the charger beingdetected, and the charging line progressing, but the battery nevercharges.

The charger can also be tested using a Voltmeter. If the charge is in good working order, the Voltmeter will read a value within half volt from charger specifications.

2. Do batteries actually lose ability to work?

Yes they do, and the fault is not unusual.

3. How much will a new battery cost?

Most ordinary Li-Ion batteries for BB are sold at less than US$10. You can see a choice of sellers here: Blackberry Curve Battery
Ensure that the battery is compatible with your Blackberry model.

4. How much will a new charger cost?

The charger is also commonly sold at less than ten US$. You can see a choice of sellers here: AT&T Blackberry Curve's charger.
Ensure that the charger is compatible with your Blackberry model.

5. Will AT&T service the phone?

They will do, providing that the phone is still under warranty. Newwireless devices like your BB carry a one-year warranty from date ofpurchase. Refurbished devices carry a ninety-day warranty from the dateof purchase. If the phone had been purchased in US, to make a warranty claim after the first 30 days from purchase, you can call At&T at1-800-801-1101.

If the phone warranty has expired, a good choice could be going to anAt&T licensed phone shop, and asking to test battery and chargeron the bench before buying a replacement battery.

A sudden drop from 50% to 7% means that the battery is faulty, it is simply a case where it is not holding any charge. I would suggest you contact the seller and check if the battery is under warranty. Hope this helps and good luck.Any question please feel free to ask.

Nokia n73

The battery is faulty or needs replacing. All rechargable batteries lose their efficiency over time meaning that they hold charge for less time. It sounds like your battery is either at the end of it's life or has a fault. If the phone is less than 12 months old, it's worth contacting the seller or manufacturer to ask for a replacement

I have the same problem. Replacing the battery solves it, but for about 6 months, then the new battery holds less and less charge.
