Pc was working properly turned it off cleaned case fan(was getting clogged with dust). turned pc back on and got no keyboard(usb type),mouse(usb type), or monitor feed. currently using kids very slow laptop to post this.
Difficult to say. Are you sure it was only the case fan that you cleaned. If you have no monitor feed how do you know the mouse is not working. Is it a base unit or laptop. What exactly happens when you try to power on. Do you have any beeps/lights flashing?Difficult to say. Are you sure it was only the case fan that you cleaned. Did you try unplugging the computer and checking for any connections that you may have loosened up by mistake? Be sure to check the hard drive and power connections.

This "can" be malware, but is most likely your pointer device going wonky. First unplug the mouse, trackball, or whatever it is you are using for a mouse. If you are still using an old PS2 connection (round plug), consider getting a USB mouse to replace it.
Plug your mouse back in and see if it solves the problem.
Try a new mouse.
If it's not the mouse (you just said the cursor is moving) it could be that the left arrow on your keyboard is stuck. In that case, rake your keyboard, tap ******* the arrow keys, turn over the keyboard and shake out any large Cheeto crumbs, use compressed air (if possible) to blow the dust out.
Unplug your keyboard from the computer and plug it back in. If you are still using the old PS2 keyboard (round plug), consider getting a USB keyboard to replace it. *** warning
*** warning, do NOT throw out the old PS2 plug keyboard if you replace it. You may need it to get into the BIOS some time in the future if the electronics don't recognize a USB keyboard on boot.
if you are sure that your mouse and keboard are in good condittion and it is all ps2 port type the problem maybe the system driver for keyboard and mouse of your operating system, please get an extra usb port type keyboard and mouse and plugged it in to your pc and power it on the usb type keyboard and mouse may refresh the system driver and may read again your ps2 type keyboard and mouse.
To try to resolve the issue: 1.) Will a different keyboard and mouse work (PS2 is the name of these connections) If they will, damage to the keyboard and mouse is likely) 2.) Will a usb mouse and keyboard work? If they do, then the problem is with the controller on the mobo, unlikley but MAY have been casued by static.
If the USB keyboard and mouse do not work, you have some problems with the motherboard
Try switching off and unplugging the computer, remove the coin shaped BIOS battery and plug in the keyboard and mouse, wait 2 minutes or so and put the battery back, replug in and power on, see if the bios detects the keyboard and mouse (you will see the bios screen flash up a message). If the computer does nOT detect the keyboard and mouse it will (or should) flash a message on the screen saying "no PS2 keyboard or mouse detected".
If this fails to detect the mouse and keyboard and you get no message or beeps, then there may be damage to the connector ports.
If you can get a USB keyboard and mouse to work, use them, Effecting a repair to the motherboard will not be a viable option
First thing we want to do is verify that your keyboard & mouse and plugged into the correct places and are powered up and able to work.
Turn your computer on and look at your keyboard and tell me if any lights are on to show that it has power and is operational.
Watch the keyboard lights until the computer gets to the login page and tell me if the lights come on and stay on? Or do the lights turn on for a moment and then turn off again?
If you do not see any lights, please clarify if there are NO LIGHTS on your style of keyboard or if there are lights but they are not lighting up.
If your keyboard has lights and they are not lighting up at all, then turn off the computer and unplug the mouse and keyboard and swap them around. Then turn the computer on again and tell me if the lights come on and the mouse and keyboard become operational.
Once we verify this we can continue to the next step of troubleshooting. Please report what you find and I will help you solve this.
PS/2 keyboard and mouse need to be turned on before you start your computer, because if you turn it on later, your machine wont recognize it. is it possible that this is the problem
Check the processor on the machine first: is it seated properly, is the cooling fan turning on it. Next, reseat all of the memory modules in the case. Finally, test the keyboard and mouse and confirm they work; try a different keyboard and mouse on the machine. Listen for any unusual noises in the case (any noises that sound out of the ordinary), try running the machine with the side panel off if possible.
First I would replace the batteries.
I had the same problem a couple of years ago. The solution for me was getting rid of McAfee AV. To check if it is your problem, use CTL-ALT DEL to turn McAfee off and see if that gets rid of your mouse freeze ups.
Try cleaning out the PC. Clean the CPU fan, remove all dust build up within the case. Canned air helps a lot. Blow out the power supply too. When you are able to power up the PC, do you see the case LED's light up / flashing?
I'm keeping in mind that when you loose the video display you also loose the use of the PS2 keyboard & PS2 mouse. If the CPU is over heating the system will shut down the PC.
If you're system is still under warranty, please call Fujitsu. http://www.fujitsu-siemens.com/home/products/personal_computers/scaleo_p.html
You may need a new power supply, CPU or board. Sorry!
Well in case of opto-mechanical mouse all u hav to do is open d mouse and just clean d rollers(as d ball moves d rollers also move and that decide d X-Y coefficients) which are clogged with sticky dirt n dust.
In case of optical mouse it's d crystal which is most vulnerable to failure,so after detailed tests procedures change d faulty component,u might require professional guidance.
Also cleaning d lens below the LED will help.
Repairs of optical Mouse is not worth it,considering d obsolute nature of electronic circuits, and d rapid fall n d prices, replacing is d only option for an optical mouse
