My 2006 Chevrolet Uplander 3.5 has no crank, no start, no lights on dash board only engine lights, no radio what do I need to do?

Do you know how to do automotive electrical testing , with a volt meter . Check out videos on youtube basic automotive electrical testing . Do you have a scan tool ? That would be a good first step . Do you have any idea how many elctronic control modules are on your vehicle ? Do you know what a serial data communication network is . C.A.N How to Diagnose Controller Area Network CAN When you turn the key to start do you know what happens ?

Circuit Description (Key Start)
For ignition switch power modes refer to Body Control System Description and Operation . When the ignition switch is placed in the Start position a discrete signal is supplied to the body control module (BCM) notifying it that the ignition is in the Start position. The BCM then sends a message to the powertrain control module (PCM)/engine control module (ECM) notifying it that CRANK has been requested. At the same time the BCM is supplying 12 volts for the IGN 1 relay closing it and supplying battery positive voltage for the crank relay coil. The PCM/ECM verifies that the transmission is in Park or Neutral. If it is, the PCM/ECM grounds the control circuit of the crank relay. When this occurs battery positive voltage is supplied through the switch side of the crank relay to the S terminal of the starter solenoid.

What you need to do is have it towed to the dealer !

I am hooking up an alarm with remote start on my Hilux 22r. I need to know which wires do what on the back of the key start switch so I can tap into them. I need acc, on and start

ACC is on when switch is in ACC position - usually the first stop.
Neither ON or START is active.
ON is the ignition - usually the 2nd position.
START is active when u push and hold the switch past ON. ON will also be active.

Car starts but dies when key is not in the start position

Could be the key switch, or something else. You need to know what the voltage is on the positive side of the coil with the key in the start position and on position. It should be 12 volts or more in both.

1984 ford f150 ignition switc/ actuator rod. For years now I have been using a pair of pliers to start my truck, I roll the key forward to disengage the steering wheel lock, then push the actuator rod...

Yea, you'll still need your key to unlock the steering wheel. Just get a properly rated DPDT (double pole double throw) switch that is "on-off-on" from radio shack or somewhere similar, as we'll as a momentary switch/push button to actuate the solenoid. Make one position on the DPDT your accessory position and the other your run position. Make sure it's in the run position when you go to start it. Again, you will need the key to unlock the column and possibly your shifter. Look up diagrams to figure out which wires you will need to have on the switch. It'll take a little engineering on your part, but if you know your wires, you can do it. Best of luck!

I have a Ford windstar 1996, sometime in the morning when I turn key on to start but no clicking sound or cranking at all. I have to move the shift to any positions and back to park position then I turn...

The vehicle you have was made with a start safety switch,, it will only start in Park or neutral, sometimes that switch has just moved with normal wear and tear ,, and can be aligned again, but if its shorted or damaged it will need replacement, its located at the end of the shift cable located on the top of the transmission,

I need to know how to take apart the steering column for a 1989 jeep Cherokee

If you are having trouble with the brake lights and radio, the problem is not under the steering wheel but at the base of the column. There is an ignition switch that runs just about everything. The key switch runs a rod down to this switch. I removed the bottom panel of the dash and loosened the column. It drops down where you can get access to the switch. You just have to be careful and put the new switch in the same position as the old one, it needs to be coordinated with the key position, so start is start and run is run. If it "is" the turn signal switch you want to replace, you will need a steering wheel puller to pull it off. There is a locking spring washer that sits in a groove that you have to pull off first. It is pretty hard to get this washer back in position because you have to compress a tension spring that works the horn, so make sure you really need to take it off.

Looking for an instruction guide for a ''Challenge'' jump starter for Cars. The red switch on the model has three positions OFF/CHARGE/ON. I need to know which switch is to recharge the car battery and not...

The 'ON' position is for charging OR jumping the car battery. Normally, you just hook the unit to the car battery to jump start it, then remove it and the car alternator will charge the car battery.

Will not start. Can jump accross the selinoid and

I assume that you are jumping the solenoid in order to bypass an ignition switch that is no longer operating?

If so, did you have the key turned to the run position?

You should not need to bypass any safety switches, just be sure that everything is in the normal starting position. (deck disengaged, in neutral, etc.)

Either way, it sounds like you have a bad ignition switch, or faulty wiring between the ignition switch and the solenoid.
