SOURCE: Lost CD for installing scanner

The thing that you need to do is go to the company site. Go to the company site that made the scanner to download the drivers. If they do not have a driver for XP then you are out of luck.

SOURCE: Canon ir C3100 Admin Password

Hello skunkel,
Yes, I believe I can help you. Hopefully these previous admin person did not go nuts with the security thing. But I can help you either way. The least painful method. Approach the copier and view the operator control panel as we are going to go into service mode and delete the admin password. I am about to describe a "fluid 3 step keystroke " function which will put you into service mode. Before we start , locate the "ADDITIONAL FUNCTIONS" button located between the LCD screen and the 9 key pad. Now, press additional functions, then the numbers 2 and 8 simultaneously, then back to additional functions in a smooth three step flow. The screen will change as you have entered service mode. Depending on the configuration of the device you will have several tabs in your display and copier will be at the top. Press copier. A new display appears with several tabs across the top. Press the function tab. New display again, and now press "clear". New display again. Look for "PWD-CLR". Once found, press it. It will be highlited, and then press the "OK" button in the lower right corner. The ok button will indicate you have touched it by beeping or highlighting or both (depends on the model). Then turn the main power off (the actual switch not the button on the op panel. If you are in doubt unplug the machine. After a few seconds re-energize the copier. If the previous administrator merely used a password then it is now deleted and you are home free. If not, then you will need to enter service mode again.......copier........function.......clear..... and then find MMI . Clearing this field will delete ALL customer inputs(IP address, favorites etc). If it is necessary press MMI and then ok. Usually you wont have to do this. But if you do you can have the fun of re-entering all your old settings as it will go back to factory settings.

If I understand your question properly I can help you. Press the "additional functions" button which is located to the right of the display about halfway down the the keypad. It has an asterisk look to it and what I believe is supposed to be a "look" of a human head. LOL. Press it and you will see a menu. Two columns appear. The last item of the left column should say system settings. Press it. I am doing this from memory so you may have improvise as my memory sucks. Once you press system settings you should see a new menu, unless you IT guy has blocked access to these features as many do. In which case I cannot help. In the event you indeed do have access you should see a new menu. Since I do not have a machine in front of me we can struggle together. Once you have selected system settings you will see a new menu that the second column in the right should say "network settings".Press it. Then you will see on the second tab tcp /ip settings. Press it. At this point you can change the IP address settings. The area where you are now will also allow you to change the DNS server settings and just about everything you might want. Once you have made the changes you wish to make......back out by pressing reset till you get back to the main copy screen. Now in order for the changes you have made to take effect you must turn the machine off and back on using the power switch located at the right side of the copier, at the rear of the right side, about halfway down the machine.Turn the power off, wait a few seconds , then back on. Within 60 seconds the copier will accept the the new network changes . i hope this helps you and take care

How do I change the ip address of the Dell 1720 dn printer to work with my network?

Ok the following instructions will help you reset the ip address of your printer however you must use the origina driver cd to do this. Follow the instructions below if you have no print server involved with this network. If you do use a print server let me know ok?

Print and Check the Network Setup Page
  1. When the Ready/Data light is on solid, press and release Continue to print a menu settings page and a network setup page.

  2. Under the Standard Network Card heading on the network setup page, make sure Status is Connected.

If Status is Not Connected:
    • Make sure the Ethernet cable is firmly plugged into the back of the printer.

    • Plug the Ethernet cable into another wall outlet.

  1. Under the "TCP/IP" heading on the network setup page, make sure the IP address, netmask, and gateway are what you expected.

  2. Ping the printer and verify that it responds. For example, at a command prompt on a network computer, type ping followed by the new printer IP address (for example, 192.168.0.11):

ping xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx
If the printer is active on the network, you will receive a reply.
  1. If your printer doesn't respond, or if the IP address is not what you expected:

    1. Insert the Drivers and Utilities CD into your computer.

    1. The Drivers and Utilities CD should launch the installation software automatically.

If the CD does not automatically launch, click Start® Run, type D:setup.exe (where D is the drive letter of your CD), and then click OK.
    1. When the Drivers and Utilities CD screen appears, click Set IP Address Utility.

    2. Select your printer from the "Configure Print Servers" list, and then click TCP/IP Settings.

    3. Make the necessary changes, and then click OK.

    4. Click Close.

    5. Print and check the network setup page to verify your changes.

Install Printer Drivers for All Clients
  1. Insert the Drivers and Utilities CD into your computer.

  2. The Drivers and Utilities CD should launch the installation software automatically.

If the CD does not automatically launch, click Start®Run, type D:setup.exe (where D is the drive letter of your CD), and then click OK.
  1. When the Drivers and Utilities CD screen appears, click Network Installation - Install the printer for use on a network.

  2. Select Install printer on one or more remote computers, and then click Next.

  3. Enter your Administrator user name and password, and then click Add.

  4. Select the clients or servers, and then click Next.

  5. Select the network printer you would like to install, and then click Next. If you do not see your printer listed, click Update to refresh the list or click Add Printer to add a printer to the network.

  6. Select your printer from the list. If you would like to change the printer name listed, enter a new name in the Printer Name field.

  7. If you want other users on the network to access this printer, select Share this printer with other computers, and then enter a share name that users will easily identify.

  8. Click Next.

  9. Select the software and documentation you want to install, and then click Install.

  10. When the Congratulations! screen appears, print a test page to verify the software is installed correctly.

  11. Click Finish to exit.

How do I add a new user to scanfront220p

Best advice is to access the web menu on the device and log in as the administrator.
Firstly, the network scanner needs an IP Address in order to access the web menu. You will need to log in as an administrator to change the IP address settings on the device.
I found that the default "administrator mode" password was just blank - no password whatsoever.
Sit down at the scanner and click the administrative mode or administrator button at the login screen. You should be prompted for the password.
If you have a router that uses DHCP then be certain that the device is configured for use with DHCP. Otherwise, configure a static IP address on it that is within the IP range of the network it is connected to.
Once you have either discovered the IP address of the scanner or assigned one manually you will want to go to another computer on the same network.
To access the web menu you will need to go to the IP address of the device - I.E. if the scanner has an ip address of 192.168.0.2 type in:
192.168.0.2
into a web browser (as though you were typing in http://www.google.com - ONLY type in the numbers and periods). The web browser needs to be on a computer that is on the same network or connected directly to the scanner via an ethernet cable and have an IP address set statically on its network card. I would google "Setting a static IP Address" and the name of your OS.
From there you will see a "To Administrator Mode" link in the upper right hand corner of the Web Menu screen. Click on that and authenticate with the same administrator password that was used earlier.
You should be able manage user accounts from within the administrative web menu!

2wire 2700hg-b wired router wont allow setup of Linksys WAP54G access point

the ip address of the 2wire router might be different from the ip address being used by the wap54g (ip address is 192.168.1.245 by default) that's why it's not being detected.
you need to directly connect the wap54g to a computer and set the computer to use a static ip address (ex. 192.168.1.240) and run the cd that came with the wap54g. you need to set the ip address of the wap54g to the same segment being used by your router to make them see each other

hope this'll help you and just ask me if you have other concern

ciao!

WINS Servers

Are you sure that you need WINS? WINS is typically only used on a corporate network and is not used very often anymore. Whether you are using static IP's or dynamic (DHCP) you can still manually add the WINS server IP address in the TCP/IP settings of the adapter in question. If you're using DHCP, are other systems on the network getting WINS? Perhaps ths DHCP server is not set up (or not capable) to pass out the WINS server address.

After changing LAN IP, can not access setup page

If using DHCP, reboot your machine or release and renew the IP on the network card. If using static IP addresses, change the computer's IP address to match the new segment and remove the old default gateway and replace with the new LAN IP.
