How come my Denon AVR 4000 sounds weaker then my Sony 1030

I am having a problem with this receiver. When I try to set it up the sound is so less powerful then my current receiver. Which is a Sony AVR1030. For the price that I paid for the unit I expected the sound to be more powerful and clearer then the Sony. Please tell me what I am doing wrong. I have tried the audessey setup and manual setup. Still the receiver does not sound as good as the Sony.

Make sure all your connects are good and no wires touching each other. also a good thing to do is make sure your wiring is rated for that wattage and class A wiring is a plus.

Hi,

Your receiver is the Denon AVR 2105 and not the Sony STR-DG510 5.1 Channels Receiver?

SOURCE: Denon AVR 588 7.1-- Sound setup questions

This reciever does not decode the audio through HDMI, the HDMI ports are simply a pass-through. To get audio you need to connect an optical audio cable from the PS3 to the reciever also. I figured this out after 2 hours of trying to get audio from the HDMI cable. Here is a link that shows the different audio formats supported through HDMI by the different Denon models. It looks like the AVR-788 is the lowest model that supports audio through HDMI. Hope that helps.

SOURCE: No audio running TV through Denon AVR 1910

I had the same problem. You're not doing anything wrong. the thing is you can't (I don't know why but the owner manual says it) have sound going to your tv AND your HT speakers when you're using HDMI. You should try going to input setup, choose hdmi audio out to your TV instead of the speakers, and then run an optical cable from your satellite to your receiver, assigning it to the TV/Cable input.

RE: Denon AVR 3300 - I cannot get the system setup menu to display on Phillips P50PFP5332D tv screen? All connected components work and sound great, but I cannot see Denon's Setup menu on tv to a

I understand, it's something I've misunderstood on my denon avr-790 as well when connected to a samsung 8000 series led tv.
The answer isn't in the receiver's settings (you can be on whatever source you want on the receiver end when toggling the menu). You need to toggle through the tv's sources to find the menu (usually found on hdmi 1). I've spent towards an hour recently troubleshooting only to find that it was the tv's source that wasn't set properly and I was trying to change the receiver's settings instead of the tv's source.
Hope that helps!

How i can connect my pc to denon receiver avr-3805

THAT would depend on the unspecified audio outputs of your PC. Access the controls for the Sound Card and make sure they're turned on and up, then cable whatever it has to something on the Denon that fits it. Neither device knows or cares that the other is anything more or less than a standard audio device or self-driven speaker set.

What is night and pure button?

'Night' compresses the audio's dynamic range to make soft sounds more audible and loud sounds less loud for a given volume setting. The assumption being that there are people sleeping while you're listening or there's so much environmental background noise that you won't hear the soft sounds. It sort of defeats the whole reason for having HIGH fidelity sound. Ditto for D.Comp.

'Pure' bypasses all internal analog processing (page 25). Why? Who can say? Other than to diagnose a problem. If the tone controls are contributing to the sound they don't belong in a Denon product to begin with. The implication is that to NOT use Pure or Direct is to inflict audible limitations on the sound. And you may lose control of the sub, too. Oh goody.

TV's are not your best source of audio. Get the TV-related audio digitally from the source, NOT the TV.

Denon AVR-1403 connected to DVD can hear music but no dialougue!!

Check the center channel speaker and the surround sound audio settings. If you do not have a center speaker, it needs to be set to off on the receiver.

Analog output from digital input for Denon AVR 3803

On the Denon AVR-888 (and I presume others), you have to put the unit in "record" mode. This is covered under "Other Operations and Functions" in the manual. Here are the steps:
1. On the front of the unit, press the zone2/rec select button
2. Turn source select until "recout source" is displayed
3. Turn source select to choose the input source

Hope this helps.
