The bios/cmos battery (usually a button type) is fairly easy to remove and can be done anytime the computer is unplugged from the power (switched off at the wall) however it is recommended that this procedure only be done by trained personnel

NOTE: removing this battery will reset the system date and time

How to bypass bios password for samsung NP-N102S

There is no magic software that will reset the BIOS password if you forget it. The only way to clear this problem is to remove the BIOS battery. Also, unplug the power cord adapter and remove the main battery before you remove the BIOS battery. If your in a hurry, after removing the small round BIOS battery short out the two pins the battery was plugged into to totally drain the capacitors on the motherboard. No harm to the motherboard, your just discharging any left over charge on the capacitors. The BIOS battery is usually under the keyboard and this will have to be removed to get at the battery.

Dennis

I have IBM ThinkPad computer A22m 2628 and i have fogotten the BIOS password...how do i get it fixed

Remove the main battery and unplug the CMOS battery if you can get to it or you can try to hold the on/off button for about 30 seconds. This should reset the BIOS to factory defaults and you can then get back in and reset a new password.

I forgot the bios Password can you help me please

Depending upon your model laptop, you may be able to remove the BIOS password by removing the BIOS battery for 20 mins so the CMOS can completelt discharge, then insert the battery and go to the BIOS configuration and set the Date & Time etc.
If this does not work the the BIOS password is stored on an EEPROM chip and removing the BIOS battery cannot remove this password. There are no backdoor passwords available.

There are a couple of solutions available to you. One is to switch the bios jumper on the motherboard, the other is to remove the bios battery (looks like a watch battery) for 5 minutes. *Note removing Bios battery will reset all bios settings not just password. Have a good day

Removing the BIOS battery did not reset the BIOS password because the BIOS password is stored on an EEPROM chip. visit laptopmasterpassword.net

My toshiba equium just wont except the main password, cant reboot..cant get into bios

At this time you need to cleat the BIOS password first so that you can get into BIOS. To cleat the BIOS password you need to open your laptop you just remove the battery first. Remove the screw and open the back cover. Locate the CMOS battery, all password are stored in CMOS memory.

Remove the CMOS battery to clear the stored BIOS password, Or you can remove also the CMOS jamper near the CMOS battery and turn on the unit with in 10 second and turn off. Reinsert the jamper. Now the BIOS password are already clear you can get now in BIOS to change some settings. Good luck

Bios battery location

On the R40, you will need to remove two things to get to the BIOS battery: 1) the regular battery, 2) the Keyboard. The BIOS battery is located just underneath the keyboard. In order to remove the keyboard you have to remove two screws from the bottom of the notebook (each will have a little picture of a keyboard and arrow next to it). Pop the keyboard up gently and the BIOS battery is just above the mouse buttons.

Check out the service manual for more details (pages 68, 77, 85).
