Marantz SR-7200 reset

This was documented on the Marantz website briefly a year ago and is no longer available. My SR-7200 develops "click/pop" problems and a reset cures it of these issues.

While powered "off," on the front panel, press: A/D + FP +Dimmer (3 buttons) and power the unit on.

This reverts to original (out of box) settings. You then must reprogram input sources, speaker setup, levels and radio stations.

I have Imperial 4 speakers circa 1971. One of the woofers popped the center black cap and is now fuzzy at moderate bass levels. Can I get a replacement speaker somewhere? Thx, Rich

I do most of my vintage audio shopping on eBay.

You could probably get a whole pair of them for less than sourcing the individual woofer.

Ends Dec 15, 201019:15:17 PST - Right now at $15.00 with $15.61 shipping.

Or maybe you just need to refoam them....

At $26.00 for this kit, I'd opt for whole speakers.

Marantz receiver

You have a worn power switch. After 30 years of turning a powerful receiver on and off, the contacts in the power switch become pitted and corroded, and just plain dirty - this is exacerbated in smoking environments. As the resistance in the contacts increases, it takes more "juice" to bridge the contacts, and this takes the form of hissing and sputtering. The best solution is to replace the power switch. These can usually be found on eBay for between $10 to $25 - just search for "Marantz power switch". You'll probably need to disassemble most of the front end of your receiver to get at the switch, and you'll need some soldering experience and tools to remove old and install the new. Once you do the job, however, it should last the rest of the life of the unit.

Total loss of sound...what to do?

please repeat your setting first- and then disconnect all speaker out.
connect your speaker one by one until you find the bad one and change it-you can also apply contact cleaner spray over volume control and move it many times-please do not forget yo unplug headphone jack first.
