Why does my yamaha 15 inch speaker keeps cutting out

I'll bet you have a poor connection to that speaker, someplace along the line, anywhere from the amp to the raw frame speaker inside the box. Let some music play while you jiggle every connection everywhere. When you can make it stop working at will by jiggling something, you've found your fault.

The only other possibility that springs to mind is a fault inside that channel in the amp.

Wired my orion hcca 10.2 my hifonics is on BUT NO SOUND

Check all wires. Make sure you connected RCA cables to the OUT of the cd deck and the IN of the amp. Common mistake. Be sure speaker wires are connected. Speaker to terminals inside the box, and then from the box to the amp. If you've been moving the speaker around thru installation, you might have knocked a wire off the inside of the box. I had some MTX's one time that broke the wires from the speaker terminasl to the cone itself. You know those braided flexable ones? Check those too. Amp fuses. You might have blown 1 fuse but still have another one or two that is allowing the power light to stay on. GOOD LUCK

Internal wiring schematic for a JBL 4311 WX-A

the conductor xxx\blk is the minus or black( from speaker) the outher is positive\red pin from speaker) the woofer is bigest speaker inside is connected on the crossover at low output, tweeter at high output, if you connect wrong you can burn speakers and crossover, you can test with very low volume on amplifier.

1st connect low to woofer, it only her low freq below 500Hz like drums and bass, if connect on med out the speaker is working as handpocket old radio audio. if connect on high the speaker is like no audio out. (the woofer take about 60-75% of amp power).

2nd connect the midrange at mid output you can listen to human voice cristal clear. if connect on high output you listem like esteric female shouting.

And connect the tweeter at the empty output

Take particular attention on polarity terminals, if you exchange the polarity you have a moofle sound traped inside of speaker, and some structered box noise who may open the box panels in future.

Logitech THX Z-2300 only one speaker works. theres something wrong with the input. both speakers work fine but the 1 of the inputs on the subwoofer stopped working, causing only one speaker 2 work

try tapping the speaker box in your palm while the speaker is connected. There might be a bad contact of the wires inside. I had to open up my speaker to find that out. i moved around the wires connected to the cone of the speaker and then started to hear music once i did that. it was the left speaker by the way.

The quickest way to tell the woofers are good or still hooked up... you need a multimeter set to ohms. test each speaker and make sure you get a reading of 2, 4 or 8 ohms. ifs its a prefab box, probably 4 ohms each but still depends on make. Make sure the speakers have good connection inside and out. Make sure amp wiring is in good condition too.

Volume very low won't go up

After I posted my problem, I browsed a bit further through the other posts and solutions, until I came across the solution of TrickyTrev34 and gave it a try. However, I did not slice the cable, but did it as follows: 1. Switch off power of the sound system on the subwoofer box. Disconnect the Front Right (FR) speaker box (the one with the volume control) from the subwoofer box.
2. Remove the silver coloured metal oval on which the speaker box stands. Now you'll see a small screw at the bottom of the speaker box. remove it. 3. Carefully remove the silver coloured metal protection plate (with all the little holes) from the front of the FR speaker box by wedging it from the top with a flathead screwdriver or other thin blunt object. Now you'll see the speaker and 4 holes with screws inside. Remove screws and speaker box opens up. 4. Inside you should see six wires (Red, Blue, Yellow, White, Green & Black). Carefully cut the GREEN wire only.
Insulate the both ends of the GREEN wire with electrical tape or heatshrink or similar.
5. Put the FR speaker box back together in reversed order. 6. Connect FR speaker back to the subwoofer box. Make sure the volume setting on your PC is very low, because when you switch back on the power of the subwoofer, you should be blasting again. As TrickyTrev34 already mentioned, the only downside of this procedure is that it will disable the volume control on the FR speaker, but who cares, your sound system works again, and you can still control the volume via the PC playback control panel and/or the multi-media keyboard if you have one.

Sony AMP/Subwoofer Problem

It is probably the tweeter, inside the Sub. it's the small ceramic disk between the cone magnet, and the speaker. id this thing is cracked or broken, this will cause the problem. if this is not it, then it is a problem with something in the wiring, and the only way to rectify it is to buy a new sub. Sorry due :(

Control pod

Double check the connections, if the connection for the control pod is good then something is wrong inside. I would say most likely thing would be a problem on the power supply inside the subwoofer box.
