I have tried 4 "professionals", including a jeweller, and they have all failed to find a way into the LeClip watch. Surely there is a way??!! (All I can think is that the glass must unscrew e.g. wit

I've seen some photos in a BB that I belong to and if yours is like the one shown, then it appears that the movement is inside the round portion opposite the clip side. There appears to be a separation between the round bezel and the clip and that is where I would try and pry it apart. Here's some info I found on LeClip...

The brand of these watches is "Le Clip" and they are not Swatch nor are they by the Swatch Group. They should not be mistaken for the Swatch Clip watches or the Clip prototype. The watches made by Le Clip were also from the eighties and that shows. They were very trendy in those days and a worldwide success. There were a big range of different ones and there even exist Maxi's, just like Swatch! Today they are very hard to find. The biggest problem wit Le Clip watches is that they were not designed to get a new battery! I do not know how to open it, I have one here but I do not see how to do it.

Biederman & Company has become the United States ad agency for Le Clip, a Swiss-made watch that may be clipped to a place of your choice. According to Barry Biederman, the watch has already caught on in Switzerland, Britain, France and Spain, where 500,000 of them are expected to be sold this year.
With the United States added, the sales goal for 1987 is two million.
The watch is being made by Le Clip S. A. of Geneva, and it has set up an American marketing arm called Le Clip U. S. with Steve Bochner, formerly a regional sales manager of Swatch Watch U.S.A., as managing director. Le Clip will have a suggested sales price of $35.
The budget for the October-through-December introduction in New York will be about $500,000, and national spending next year should be $2 million to $3 million. All in good time.

I have a moto gp and popped the back to change the battery. no matter how hard i try the cover will not snap back on. am i doing something wrong?

Putting the back on a watch seems to be a frequent problem, possibly why most makers recommend that you let a jeweller replace a battery.

I suggest you try the following method:

1) Place you watch on a flat surface (on top of a cloth to protect the crystal)

2)place the back in position (check alignment of any seal)

3)place the thumbs of each hand together at one point on the rim and then (leaning firmly on both thumbs) work you way round the rim until the back clicks into position.

If there is a notch on the back which is made to make is easier to remove it, then I suggest that you start on the opposite side to this.

You may need several attempts to to get it right but keep trying.

If all else fails, a trip to your local watch shop should solve your problem.

Good luck!

Le clip, swiss watch, how battery change

It is probably difficult because they have to try hard to keep water out!

Take your watch to your nearest watch shop and ask them to do it for you.

You can get into difficulty replacing batteries and it is not worth the risk for the small cost saving in doing it yourself.

Seiko Chronograph 7T32 minute hand inactive after battery replace

you often need to do a full reset on 7T32s (& other seikos) after a battery change. there is a small reset contact in the rear of the movement which needs to be shorted to the top of the battery (the movement is engraved with wording to this effect, something like "AC reset", I can't remember exactly). you might also try pulling out the crown all the way (2 clicks) then holding both upper pushers in for a few seconds. it's unlikely to be a buggered motor unless it's one of the subdials that's failed.

Second hand doesent return to 1200 position after replace batt

I just replaced the battery in my 20yr old Seiko chrono sports 100. And I had the same problem. I think I stopped it on 12 while in stopwatch mode and held down the start stop button and the set button at the same time. See if that works dude.
