I have a bosch fridge freezer. i took the shelves out to clean them and left the door open. when i tried to replace them the walls had swollen at the rear and the shelves won't go back in....

Hello Richard;

My name is Peter. I am a retired field service refrigeration technician.

You have cracks in the liner. Moisture has got behind the liner forming water, froze and expanded the wall.

This is not good. Your insulating material is now wet.

You can try turning your unit off, use a hair dryer, and push on the back wall to squeeze the water out, then seal the cracks with a high temp silicon adhesive.

It is near impossible to get all of the moisture out. Eventually you are going to end up purchasing a new unit.

When you purchase a new unit, consider going to a Sears Outlet (Scratch & Dent) Store. You can save $300-$400.00 and receive a one year warrantee.

Where is the defrost drain

Back behind the metal "wall" at the rear of the freezer, there is a raised "shelf" with the drain in it. Pull our freezer racks or shelves, remove a few screws, renove sheet metal "wall", and you will find it at the bottom there.

Frigidaire model FFU17M8CW1. Top shelf iced up and low temp light came on. Compressor ran continuously. Emptied the freezer and defrosted it. Not for very long...just long enough for the ice to melt, wiped...

The shelves are the evaporator in your freezer. It is normal for the shelves to have frost on them. The more moisture in the unit the more frost you have till you have to defrost it like you did. The fact that only one of your shelves is frosting indicates that the system is low on freon. Must have a leak which requires a qualified havc to find and repair. The temp in a freezer should be between 0 and 10 degrees. At this point your compressor is keeping it cold only by running all the time. As more freon leaks out the temp will rise. This may occur slowly or at a quicker rate depending on the amount leaking.

GSS25LGMCC Side-by-Side. On left freezer side, foam filled walls have contracted and top two wire shelves can no longer rest of molded side supports and fall. Need shelves about 1/2" wider

never heard of that happening, are you sure you're not missing a support that the shelf slides on or you have the wrong shelf for that spot.i'm sure you tried the shelves in all the slots,if the wall did push out like you say the only thing i can suggest is to buy another support and get longer screws and put the screw through both supports and hang them like a single support to make up the what caused this to happen,is the freezer staying cold?if you give a parts store your model number they will sell you the same shelves that you have.

Lower shelves keep falling down out of wall supports

replace gromments and reduce the weight that you put inside the shelf/basket.

Lost vacumn, door popped open alarm on

If is the type of freezer where the shelves are also the evaporator(shelves are very cold and is normal to frost), the fact that only one shelf is iced would indicate the system is low on freon due to a leak. This would also explain the hot walls and compressor. It requires a service man to check the freon level and locate leak and recharge.

Frost is forming in freezer of side by side

There may be a switch on inside of refrigerator to regulate the sweat on outside of fridge. Also, door seal gets stretched to prevent good air seal.Open the door and insert a dollar bill. Shut the door, the door seal should be tight offer enough resistence that dollar bill does not freely pull out of door.If it doesn't,replace door seal.Hope this helps. Gregg

Water is leaking on the top shelves in my kenmore refriderator water is leaking on the top shelves in my kenmore I have water leaking onto the top shelf of our Kenmore refrigerator. I believe it goes into...

During the defrost cycle heaters inside the walls of the freezer turn on to melt the frost. The melted frost "water" is supposed to drain into a pan under the fridge where it will evaporate. I think the drain line from the freezer to this pan may be blocked. I'd also check the seal on the freezer door. If it's not sealing well it lets a lot of moisture into the freezer which means more water during the defrost cycle. I'd also recommend checking to make sure the ice maker is not leaking.

Not freezing equally

Look for frost build up on back wall at bottom the auto defrost may be out. Check if the evaporator fan is blowing. If not it's stuck by something or needs replaced. If not The sealed system may have a leak or restiction causing it to only work closest to the evaporator i.e. the lower shelf.
