The screen in your dvd might not be getting the volts it needs to work, the ribbon cable that comes from the base gets broken sometimes because of the hinge action of open and closing constanly. You need to call RCA at 877-794-7977 and ask for an estimate or an idea of how could cost to repair.Good luck.

I don't know if you ever got an answer or not, but we have this same unit and also had this problem. (now we have a different problem) Anyway, there is a small button on the mail base that I think is on the upper right. When the screen is closed the button is compressed, when the screen is opened it should fully pop out, but ours did not. It appeared to be, but if you pressed it in, it would fully pop out and the screen would work. Sometimes we had to do this several times during a trip. For some reason it would not stay fully popped out? We had already taken the exact same DVD player back to Target because of this same problem, only to have the second unit do the same. I bought this particular player because I assumed with the "Eddie Bauer" name it would be quality. I was mistaken. Hope you already figured this out. Sincerely, T

The white screen is an indication that either the digital processing is defective or that the screen drivers have a problem. The more likely problem is the screen drivers. Normally the screen would be dark. If you can gain access to the inside, try reseating all of the cables and connectors. Becuase the signal levels are so low, it does not take much to interfere with the signal. Also, a poor ground on one pin can cause this too. Let us know if the reseating helps.
