Range completely died. Oven, igniters and EOC not working

Hello, I'm really hoping someone can help me out, because I've hit a dead end. I was using my oven and all of a sudden it completely died. I've done all the standard troubleshooting: checked to make sure the outlet has power, unplugged the range for a while and plugged it back in. When I called Frigidaire, they recommended replacing the EOC. But before doing that, I opened up the back panels and began testing the connections with an Ohmmeter. What I found is that when I test for contact between the hot wire on the plug and the black wire (BK-1) on the EOC, there is no contact. Based on the Troubleshooting diagram the hot wire on the power cord (BK-4) leads to BK-1, and so there should be contact there. Does my thinking seem correct? My thought is that maybe there is an issue with the connector between BK-4 and BK-1, but unfortunately I don't see any way to get to it, without disassembling the whole range practically. It doesn't look like it's meant to be accessed. Also, I tested the neutral wire (W-4) with the Ohmmeter and all the connections on the EOC look good. W-1, P-1, T-1 and PR-1) all have contact with W-4. Does anyone have any suggestions? Thank you very much for your help in advance. Best regards, Mark

I solved the issue. Wire BK-4 was cut due to poor design, and possibly bad installation by Frigidaire. The wires were pulled across a sharp metal corner, which wasnt curved or grommeted.

SOURCE: can i open (lift) the cooktop on a frigidaire ffgf3053ls gas range?

Hello Frank - Since a gas range is such a complex unit and for safety and liability reasons the unit is not designed to be lift open. However you may clean the burner grates, burner caps, and the surface burner heads.

SOURCE: Frigidaire Gas Self Cleaning Oven door open in lock position

Hello ericndiana6b - Was the unit in self-clean mode? Try pressing and holding the "Clear/Off" button to stop any operation of the EOC. Do this at the same time while pushing and hold the light switch to the left of the door lock. Usually this will trick the oven into unlocking the door. If it is ineffective, try resetting the unit by unplugging it or flipping the household circuit breaker off. Wait approximately ten minutes and redo the steps. If door continues to maintain locked while open, the unit may possibly have a faulty door latch or a communication problem with the EOC. Contact a professional to move forward accurately.

Popping noise in oven when baking

Hello friend, thanks for your inquiry!

From what you have described there is a popping noise within your Frigidaire oven when it is baking. It could be some food residue left on the element or an issue with the thermostat. I would recommend checking the inside of your oven for any food residue near or on your element that could cause a noise of any sort. I hope this information is helpful to some degree. -Matt

If the iron doesn't heat, make sure 1) power is on to the outlet, 2) check the electrical cord and 3) check the thermostat and replace if necessary. Use the VOM.

I have a black & Decker digital advantage iron. it is about a year old and when I plug it in it beeps and comes up with err or. Can you tell me what is wrong or what i can do

      Hi!

I really hope someone can come up with an answer to your problem.

Personally, I have an iron, and a toaster, and a toaster oven with the old-fashioned dial where the degrees of heat are approximately displayed.
I had them for decades it seems, and I've never had to suffer any fallout from either ironing my shirts at plus or minus 5 degrees from the digitally recommended temperatures, nor from toast that was slightly darker one day and lighter the next.

I'm not a caveman, just in case you wonder. I do have a microwave oven with a dial timer as the only variable, and I must say on its behalf that it has served me without a hiccup the dozen times I used it to either warm my tea, or help defrost the odd TV dinner, which ended being cooked in the toaster oven.

In all seriousness however, needlessly digitally controlled appliances just because it's cheaper to manufacture them, don't score highly with me.

Furthermore, these electronic circuits appear to have a predetermined and highly predictable life expectancy, and oftentimes the appliances they control are cheaper to replace than to repair.

I have a Tobi steamer, The steam is not coming out like it should how to I unclog the hose? I do know its the hose. Thank you

My wife has thrashed hers in her shop and it suddenly stopped steaming. It was about two years old. I managed to fix it. I dont think that the hose or the nozzel will be blocked because they are too wide a diameter. There will probably be a build up of silica or calicum inside. Unscrew the hose where it meets the machine. Remove the blue water tank. If you pour some water down the pipe from the end that you just unscrewed the hose , the water should well up in the depression where the tank sits through the little holes at the bottom. If it doesnt then the blockage is inside which is what I found. I used some decalcification liquid product ICL and poured it in from the hose end and let it soak for 10 minutes. Then I got a thin plastic tube to go in and scrape around as far as you can from the hose end. A thin bottle brush or pipe cleaner would be good. I then used a thin piece of wire to poke around the slits in the other end( depression) Then I emptied it out and continually flushed it through with water and give it a good shake holding your hand over the hose end connection hole. I found that when I emptied the water out , it contained all this silica and residue. I would have got about a teaspoon full in total. After several goes the blockage suddenly cleared itself and I found that suddenly the water was running through freely and welling up as described. I kept doing this until the gritty residue dissipated. You can hold the hose end under the tap and tilt the machine so that the water runs freely out through the depression well. I reassembled it and tried it out. Bingo just like new. Hope this helps. - Grant

      Wont turn on

      I agree.

It is probably a loose screw (if you shake the iron, you may hear it rattle).. The iron is most likely good, just needs a 5 minute repair.

If you want to do it, or find someone to do it:
      1. UNPLUG the iron.
      2. remove the 4 screws from the back end of the iron.
      3. Open the back plastic plate.
      4. There will be a wire with a loose screw; tighten it.
      5. There may be a broken wire near the screw; if so, remove the eyelet that is on the screw. put the screw back on and wrap the broken wire end onto the screw and tighten.
      6. Replace the back plate.
      7. Plug back in and use for a few more years.

      Hope this helps!
