SOURCE: Disabling the door alarm.

Tape the door open buttons down. It's dark but quiet. Same problem with my dogs and a Bosch.

How do I get 2001 Celica to stop beeping when I lock - unlock doors thus enabling and disabling the alarm? Thanks, Nina

Hi Nina, there are a few different combinations depending on year and model of alarm, for yours could you try disconnecting the battery again, turn the ignition key to accessory.....the one before ignition start and then reconnect the battery. Let me know if it disables the beeps!

Turn the key in the passenger's side door lock or the tailgate lock. That will shut off the factory security system.

this is a long shot, put the key in the driver door, turn to unlock then try to start the car, some systems disarm when the key is used to unlock the car.

2001 Town and Country 3.8l LXi When I open the each the passenger or driver side doors the alarm will go off..wont stop until i start the car. Does not happen when the doors are opened with the key...

the door does not have a key reccognition system, only the ignition,
so if you use the key, without first disabling the alarm, the alarm will go off,SO use the remote to unlock the car and the key to start it....no problem....

Have a 2001 RAV4. Tried to unlock car with key on Passenger side. Activated Alarm. Forgot how to deactivate alarm

go around to the drivers door and use the key to lock and then unlock the door, or use the remote to unlock the car. if that doesn't work u have a problem in the security system and will need the system scanned.

Going in to alarm

The switch that is mounted to your key cylinder is most probably bad and it is not disabling your alarm when you open your door. this is the most likely cause, to get to it the door panel will have to be removed.
