SOURCE: Monitor malfunction, says VGA Input: No Signal and goes to sleep

If it was your video card, you would have no picture at all. Try to boot in safe mode and do into your options and make sure your hibernation is not on. Only other thing I can think of, it could be *********** board.

SOURCE: It will boot up to the windows screen and freezes.

If your computer was able to boot up but unable to load the Windows, the most common cause would be the recently intstalled software or Windows update.

To remove this, follow these steps. Skip Step 1 if it is not relevant.

Step 1: Removing recently added hardware
Use the steps in this section to disconnect any recently added hardware and test for the error.

NOTE: If a new internal device (sound card, hard drive, or other) was added to the computer before the error message started to occur, you have to remove it before continuing.

  1. Turn off the PC and unplug the power cord.
  2. Disconnect the mouse, and any other peripherals attached (Printer, scanner, webcam, zip drive, phone cord, network cable and other devices). Leave only the keyboard and monitor cable attached.
  3. Press and hold the power button on the front of the PC. Release after 10 seconds.
  4. Plug the power cord back in.
  5. Turn on the computer.
  6. The computer displays the We apologize for the inconvenience... message. Allow the timer to count down from 30 to 0.
  7. If the computer successfully starts to the Windows desktop and does not restart to the error message, connect one device and wait until Windows recognizes it.
  8. To find if a device is causing the error, continue connecting the devices, one at a time, restarting the computer each time, until the device that is causing the error is found.
NOTE: If this does not solve the issue try to do a system restore BUT it will delete all your files and programs you install by yourself after the system. You will be able to use the pc as a new pc.

SOURCE: sr1720nx compaq presario no signal to monitor

Try changing the VGA cable or the other cable you are using.......

If that does not resolve your problem and that the monitor is good it means that your desktop's graphic card is damaged.....

Try replacing the graphic card or if it is an internal one..... add one in your agp or pcie slot

Regards :)

SOURCE: desktop wont connect to internet but laptop will

Is your cable modem also a wireless router?

From my search on it, it is not a wireless router.

This means you need to attach a hub or a wireless router to your cable modem so that more than one computer can connect to the internet simultaneously.

Go out and buy a wireless router. Connect the wireless router to your cable modem.

Connect your desktop to the wireless router with an ethernet cable.

Then you should have internet on your desktop.

Let me know if this helps. Give me a good rating and vote for me please.

One of to thing is happening.

No or too little power is being supplied to the card.
I think this is most likely your problem the hp power supplies are bare minimum for the stock config.

A good 500-700watt PSU should be the safe zone anything less will ether not work or will slowly kill the power supply from useing too much current.

Motherboard is not compatible with a pci-e card. if there is 2 slots try the other one. Also i know it sounds a little condescending but are you 100% sure the card is 100% in the slot and that you vacuum or blew the dust out of the slot.

When I try to turn on my computer the monitor reads: VGA input: no input signal

The monitor is telling you that it does not see the computer. First, remove the monitor cable from the back of the computer, check for bent pins on the connector and replug in the connector.
If that doesn't work, try swapping to a different monitor to see if it sees the system. If this works, you have a bad monitor or monitor cable.
If that doesn't work, open up the computer remove the video card, clean any dust from around the card and socket and replug the video card.
If these ideas don't work, get back to me and we'll go from there.
Have a good day!
Ron
