all radios like your has two power inlets one is battery and the other is Acc or Ing. The battery line keeps power in the radio after you turn off your car both lines must work for the radio to turn on it sounds like a resister burn out thats why your face plate was warm.

SOURCE: cd player broken

unplug the radio from its harness for about a minute then plug it back in try the radio again if you still get that squeal-it is possible that either one of your speakers is shorted or your wiring has a problem- cleaning will not help this problem!

Thanks for the description of your problem. At the face of it , it looks like the problem is only the face plate. Coz the unit lights up fine and there are no blown fuses. I recommend replacing the face plate first and checking. If the that not working , we have to open the unit and check internal connections.
Also do check all your relay cables, just to make sure you are getting proper current to the unit.

My sons Chevy half ton rear end locks up was told limited slip disk any ideas or help be appreciated

you can try taking the inspection plate off and see if there is any metal particles on it or take face plate off and have a look see and check if anything broken. best case scenario reseal diff plate and put new clean fluid and go from there worse case grab a used rear end from a wrecker

Once you remove the case you will normally see some latches that are the same color as the face plate running along the side of the metal part of the computer. Just push the latches so that they don't catch then remove the face plate.

How do I mount the Face Plate on the Latch?

Insert the latch into the faceplate opening, ensuring that the sides of the faceplate line up with the flat surface on the latch collar. Push flush with the drive-in collar. Then grasp the faceplate in one hand and the latch in the other hand and rotate the faceplate clockwise to snap in to the collar.

Freezes while i press open

first check all of your power and ground connections and be sure your battery is good then try the small reset button on the front face. if that does not work you may need a new flexible ribbon cable that you can find on ebay cheap.

Psp anolog button faulty?

You just remove the face plate again and check it now your PSP is working OK if so there is some misalignment while placing the face plate on PSP and suppose your fault still remains same without face plate also then there is a possibility of Analogue button is being damaged which should be changed.
