SOURCE: Wiring diagram for a Dayton thermostat

Contact Dayton on the internet for this problem. The diagram should be available on their site. Or they will give you a number for customer care. They can give you step-by-step instructions. I am a technician and this is what I would do as their are millions of wiring diagrams. Many are noy up to date.

I have a colman furnace one element stays on constantly can you tell me why

Furnace is the term we use for a gas system. I'm assuming you have an electric "air handler"(unit), and or has 1 element staying on, glowing red, and cycling on a limit. These elements are controlled by "heat sequencers", heat relays, and some older units used heat contactor's. This "switch" is stuck closed & must be replaced. I've also seen a direct short at the element itself, where the element has come apart, and a part of that element had touched ground. This completed the circuit and allowed the element the energize. Hope this helps! Its probably a stuck (closed), switch that's supposed to open when the tatat is satisfied.

My nice sliding gate only closes with the fob and will not open

There are several possible causes, but the first to check is the limit switches. When the gate opens, it is supposed to trip a limit switch that tells the mechanism that the gate is fully open. If the switch is not tripped, it will not respond properly to a command to close. It may think the gate is running into an obstruction and then just shuts down.

LARRS LX 400N It will not start the ignition sequence. Flame switch is OK. Limit switch mounted on the right outside of the upper cabinet is OK. Have low voltage. The pressure switch is open (is there...

"The pressure switch is open (is there supposed to be water pressure on the pressure switch so that it will close?)"

All switches need to be closed in order for this heater to start.
If you know you have good water flow (at least 50gpm) and your finding the pressure switch still open, it is either failed or clogged. Clean or replace the pressure switch.

Ac wont shut off rheem gas pack unit is old

Turn off the power to your condensing unit.
Open the service control panel.
Look at the contactor and take one of the low voltage wires off of it.
If the contactor stays closed, replace the contactor. Even if you clean the contacts it will stick again.
If the contactor opens replace the wire and check the thermostat to see if it is operating correctly.

Electric space heater contactor won't stay latched

Jumpered the bimetal thermostat and everything worked smoothly. Tried to clean contacts in thermostat with no luck, so ordered a replacement. At least it was cheaper than the contactor.

Compresser will not quit running

Turn your thermostat off, if still running ,then the contactor is stuck in close or run position, the thermostat controls the open & close of the contactor coil.. Replace the 24volt contactor on the outside unit and your problem is solved!

Goodman cetral air system brand new contactor hums but it will not switch on

That's what contactors are supposed to do, but they are supposed to turn the air conditioner on because the thermostat activates them, not your finger. Be very careful about sticking your finger in there.
