Our dryer does not function after a slight power outage due to an electrical storm. The number 88 blinks for a minute then goes to 18 . There is no response to the control panel , no buttons work!

brand and model numbers would be very helpful. without this info, I would try unplugging, wait about a minute, then plug back in. sometimes units can be reset by just cycling the power. Good luck.

The last alarm code memorized can be displayed even if the appliance is in normal operating mode (e.g. while the drying programme is being performed): - Press (start/pause) and first option button simultaneously for at least 5 seconds: the display shows the last alarm. The alarm sequence continues to flash as long as the two buttons are held down.
The appliance continues the cycle while the alarm codes are being displayed. If the appliance is in programme selection mode, the options previously selected are stored in memory.

E60 is family fault code but after reading last alarm you will see exactly fault code (E61; E62; E63)

E61 - Insufficient heating (maximum time exceeded)
  • Heater unit faulty
  • Wiring faulty
  • NTC sensor incorrectly calibrated/out of position
  • Electronic board faulty
E62 - Power reley to heater unit faulty
  • Heater unit faulty
  • Wiring faulty
  • Electronic board faulty
E63 - Intervention of auto-reset thermostat on the heater unit
  • Thermostat faulty (replace heater unit)
  • Heater unit faulty
  • Wiring faulty
  • Electronic board faulty

R e 5 flashing,will not start

Good Morning Pat - Typically RES will flash in the display when the cycle has either been interrupted or paused. RES means resume. Pressing the START key should resume the cycle. You may also try resetting the unit by unplugging it or flipping the household circuit breaker off. Wait approximately ten minutes and turn the unit back on. If issue persists, then the unit may possibly have a door switch issue. At this point, I would suggest having a service technician to diagnose the problem before investing in unnecessary parts.

you could try removing the top of the unit, disconnect the display from the main wiring loom and reconnecting it, or try and buy a spare one and fit it.

Dryer will not start display works, when i push the start button it just beeps and does nothing, shows a E01 code.

Hi, this is what the error code means,

E1 or E2 Thermistor Failure The dryer will not operate if the exhaust temperature drops below 18 degrees F. or exceeds 250 degrees F.

When the thermistor circuit is open (>50K ohms), the error code E1 flashes in the display.

When the thermistor circuit is shorted (<500 ohms), the error code E2 flashes in the display.

Normal thermistor resistance values:
60 degrees F. - 15.3K ohms.
70 degrees F. - 11.9K ohms.
80 degrees F. - 9.2K ohms.
Hope it helps.

I HAVE THE PF CODE FLASHING ALONG WITH THE HIGH LOW OFF LIGHTS AND PRESSING BUTTONS DOESNT WORK

Hello

PF error code means Power Failure, it is displayed when the unit is either not getting enough power or the power board also known as the electronic control board has gone bad and needs replacement. As pressing buttons doesn't work then first unplug the unit for 15 minutes and then check, if this does not help then replacing the control is recommended repair. Please get back to me if you have any other questions.
