LG PC Flatron W1942S How do I turn on the monitor after it has gone into what I presume is hibernation mode? If I turn the computer off and then on again it usually comes on immediately but surely I should not be doing this?

Hello, The reason your monitor switched to power saving mode is because the operating system on your computer told it to. A computer left on and unattended is programed to sleep/hibernate after usually a short period of time. Without going to in depth, There are stages of sleep and after time the hibernation deepens. Go to the buttons on the bottom of your monitor it will give you an option to change the vertical and horizontal setting.

The manual for the W1942T is here, and it should be close enough to the W1942S to help you. The 1942S is listed on LG's UK site, but there is no manual available.

since it's only 3weeks old as long as you have the receipt take it back .

I had the same problem with my LG Flatron (not the same model as your one). I fixed it by connecting both the digital and analogue cables from the pc. Presumably, the problem occurs because the monitor is not receiving a digital signal.

i get a black screen and an orange light in my lg lcd flatron whenever i turn it on.. i cnt use my pc because of this problem.. i hope u would answer my question...

if the monitor showing powersaving mode, monitor is ok. It must be your CPU complaint.

the monitor is working ok if it goes to safe mode with no input.which do you turn on first?(to work out which could be faulty)It is most likely that the monitor data cable is the fault(at either end) or the PC m'bd disp skt,try pluging an add on disp'card in to the PC. Regards Chook.
