If you have dvd player then connect its audio out to your tv audio in. if no sound then, it might be that your audio amplifier inside your tv is the culprit. usually this happens when turning the volume fully.

I have sound and picture distortion (like what happens during a thunderstorm) in my 42 inch insignia lcd tv but not during storms. started about two weeks ago, happens intermittently. driving me nuts. is...

Your probably having what cable guys call a SNR ( signal to noise ) issue. There's no way to know unless you call your cable provider. The SNR should be 32 and above with zero pre/post errors. In case you want to ask the tech what they are.

I have a insignia LCD 32'' TV and it have sound but the screen is green please help i use the component blue green and red

It sounds like the RED cable is not connected right, you did not mix the RED for audio right channel RCA plug with the RED component RCA plug? Please verify the RED, BLUE and GREEN cables again just in case, otherwise t can be the source component or the processor inside the TV.

Lost all sound

I had the same problem. Do you have a cable box for digital TV? do you have a remote from the cable company? that is programmed to control the TV? get the cable company to unlock the sound control from it (a 3 number code) put your sound up to maximum if you can if you hear faint sound repeat above you should be able to hear the tv then then go to the sound settings and adjust as needed get the cable company to check the box in cas it has been zapped by lighting good luck
