Beko DRVS 62 W Tumble Dryer Squeakig

Ok so my tumble dryer works but once it gets hot after say 10 minutes it starts making a loud metal squeaking noise. If I open it up and move the drum slowly I can hear the noise but can't work out what is making it do it. Strangely it doesn't always make the noise even when it's been going for 30 mins and hot either but more often then not it does. It also does not make the noise if I let it cool down and start it up again. Any ideas?

I had a problem similar to this on my Frigidaire dryer. I found that there is a felt ring that goes around the drum inside. This acts like a washer to prevent the drum from rubbing on the housing. On mine, the felt somehow got pushed in some and the drum was squeeking as it rotated. I had to order a whole new drum and replace it since on my model it was part of the drum.

This could be a worn out or loose belt. You can get to it through an access panel on the back of the machine. Just make sure the power is disconnected first! Hopefully a replacement belt will be easy to obtain in your area. Regards

SOURCE: dryer runs then stops after short periods (5-10 mins)

THere maybe a thermal limit sensor gone bad. Keeps the dryer from over-heating. Located behind rear panel on most and mounted on the heat tube. Verify with volt/ohm meter if possible

SOURCE: My tumble dryer squeaks really loudly when its

Check the following:

  1. Idler pulley - It keeps tension on the main drive belt and when it is worn, it can be squeaky and noisy. Replace then.
  2. Glides - Attached to the front bulkhead of the clothes drum for support. When worn, it can be noisy and squeaky.. Replace then.
  3. Rollers or wheels - They support the clothes drum. When they are are worn, you should replace the whole set of rollers at the same time.
  4. Blower wheel - It pulls air over the heat source through the clothes drum past the thermostats, then pushes it out the exhaust duct. It may wear out over time. If it is noisy, it may be clogged with lint. Clean the blower and test to see if the dryer is still noisy. If it is, you need to replace it.

Dryers are designed to operate in one direction. Some models turn clockwise and some turn counter-clockwise. Do not run it backwards. The direction of air flow will be impeded or reversed.

Beko DRVS6W tumble dryer squeaks when the drum comes to a halt

    DRYER MAKES NOISES.

A loose or worn BELT can make funny noises

Or the idler pulley that puts tension on the dryer drum drive belt could be worn out. If the pulley is bad we recommend also replacing the belt.

The glides on drum worn and making metal to metal contact.

The drum slides or glides support the front of the drum. As the drum rotates over the years, the glides wear out and then the dryer makes noise. Replace all of the glides as a set if they are worn out.

CHECK FOR LOOSE BELLOES inside the drum

Sometimes an item can get stuck inbetween the drum and the housing and scrape and grind making funny noises, things like coins, bra wire, nails, hair pins, etc sometimes u can just remove the cabinet and observe by turning the drum by hand or looking for scratch or scrape marks on housing.

    The blower:

Clumps of lint, socks, and other small articles of clothing can get past the lint filter and into the blower wheel. If the dryer makes noise, and the noise seems to be at a very fast pace, there might be something caught in the blower wheel. In addition, the blower wheel sleeve might be worn out, allowing the blower wheel to wobble on the motor shaft. If this happens, replace the blower wheel.

    The bearings:

The drum bearing supports the rear of the dryer drum. If the dryer makes noise this bearing might be worn out. Replace the bearing if it is worn out. Do not lubricate the bearing, the lubrication will attract lint and dirt and accelerate the wearing process.

The bearings TEST by moving drum by hand u may be able to feel loose or rough movement. And listen to sounds when turning it.

    The drum rollers or castors:

It is very common for dryer drum rollers to wear out. If the dryer makes noise, particularly a loud rumbling noise, one or more of the rollers may be worn out. After removing the drum from the dryer, inspect the rollers.

Check for cracks, dryness, or damage and not engaging drum properly. Sometimes u can use high density LITHIUM BASE gear grease to re oil/grease them.

    GOD IS GOOD !!!!

Hello all i have a beko DRVS 62W tumble dryer...it has recently stopped producing heat but still spins..how do i fix this please?

You are asking a subject which can be dangerous, since there is a gas chamber and gas involved. First check that no one has turned off the gas ballcock valve which allows gas to flow to the dryer. And that your main Home Heater or stove is working. Once you have established that, depending on model there should be an automatic ignition which lights the pilot. I'm not familiar with your model, but most dryers have a thermocouple which keeps the pilot lit. The auto reset should be near the pilot device. If you could look into Dryer by removing the access door, or sight glass (if any) you should be a pilot light or an activation of the light once the dryer request heat. As said I don't know your model, but look for a thermocouple, if you don't know what a thermocouple is, go to a Home Hardware or Appliance Repair Store and request a thermocouple. You are under no obligation to buy simple by becoming familiar. The problem with giving advice with gas appliances is that other items can cause the safety to be tripped. A crack in combustion chamber, a loose screw which changed the gas to air ration, the venting of NOX requirements. It will take some thought and knowledge, and physically seeing the devices, it could be just a wire which fell off the control valve. Ideally when it comes to gas you not only need the right tools, such as water & soap (which blows air bubbles the kids use) to check for leaks, but small wrenches, and perhaps a cleaning of the orifices. A stripped telephone wire works the best. Trace the wires from the area next to the pilot to the other end, the reset button should not be far away.

DRUM NOT TURNING ON BEKO TUMBLE DRYER. JUST OUT OF WARRANTY.

Check your drum belt, sometimes this belt is broken or slipped off the motor pulley or idler arm pulley.
Also could be a faulty motor..
Another thing to try is to turn the drum by reaching inside of the drum and turning it by hand 1/4-1/2 turn with the dryer off. Then turn the dryer on again and see if it works.
Motors will sometimes get a dead zone in them and this help move it from the dead zone.
