SOURCE: I have a P20 Pantera

The last time I saw this there was a valve problem on the controller and the filter sand needed changed. If that sand has been in there more than 12 months and running most likely the sand needs replaced. While you have it open you can check the pipes and fittings in the Filter Unit to make sure something didn't come loose. If I remember correctly it recommends changing the sand every 2 to 3 years unless there is a lot of build up which you described indicating the need to change it. The 2 to 3 year recommendations comes not so much because of the sand but to inspect the inside of the filter unit as well.

Have a pantera p24 sand filter from wicor and the lable has gone from the control lever. I need to know what function is in each position.. filter, rinse, backwash etc.

don't know if you got it fixed or not but can give you mine....if your looking at it from the top it goes like this....in the twelve o'clock position nothing,1 o'clock is recirculate then 3 o'clock is backwash then 5 o'clock is close then 6 o' clock winterise then 7 o'clock is waste then 9 o'clock is filter then the 10 or 11 o'clock is rince. hope that helps..

Labels Gone

I also have the same problem with the label on my filter. My pool dealership said I would need deal with Wicor directly. I see two other people with the same problem, however, neither has been responded to. It is VERY difficult to run your pool properly if you don't have your control lever labeled. An immediate response would be greatly appreciated.

I have a Pantera 2 sand filter by wicor, 2nd hand. they told me it leaks abit around the top, but I could by a kit for it where do I get a kit or how do If fix it?

Depending on which model that you have, you may be able to find replacement parts online. Poolcenter.com is one place that sometimes has older parts. In fact, if you follow the link below, it will take you to a parts listing online:

http://www.poolcenter.com/parts_filter_starite_pantera.htm

However, that is for the Sta-Rite/Wicor model and may not be the one you have there. If it is not, one possible option is to email Pentair from their website. If you can take a jpeg photo of the filter, they may be able to further assist you in finding the correct parts.

Older Polaris doesn't sweep

If the unit travels normally and picks up debris as it should, there may be a problem with a feed hose inside . Separate the haed shell and inspect. often the plastic clamps finally give out and allow hose to pop off. Also check inner hoses for any swelling and possible slits. If the unit doesn't act in a friendly way then you have water supply issues and/or inadequate water pressure to unit. Check stream from wall with unit disconnected.
