Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of.(from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones)
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
Goodluck!

SOURCE: programming error BCT8 Uniden

Hello.
Back to answer my own question.
I just found the problem. If you try to program one of these scanners (Uniden BCT8) and you keep getting a "pr9-loc" message every time you try to enter a frequency and "M-LOCK" is showing in the upper right corner of the display press and hold the M-Lock (E) key until it beeps twice and "M-LOCK" disappears from the display. You're now set to program.

How do I program an 8 digit frequency into the scanner when only allows me to enter 7?

Just forget the 8th digit. If it's a zero it's meaningless (last digit zero never needs to be programmed). If it's anything else the scanner will still pull in the signal without the last digit.

Need the manual for your scanner? You can download and print it, at no cost, here:

I have a problem programming my uniden scanner

You didn't mention whether or not you have a manual for the scanner, so here's a link where you can download it:

http://www.uniden.com/pdf/BC246Tom.pdf

Conventional frequency systems and trunking systems require different programming steps, and the manual will walk you through them in detail. You can program the scanner manually, using the keypad, or you can use the included cable with appropriate software to program using your computer. No-cost software is available on the Uniden web site, or you can purchase more useful software from BuTel. ScannerMaster.com is the best source for the BuTel software.

How do I program conventional frequencies into my Uniden BC898T? I have Motorola TypeII Digital Tunking frequencies programed into Bank A and EDAC Digital Trunking frequencies programed into Bank B

Just go to Bank C or anything after that and start entering -- one channel, one frequency. It's kind of cumbersome to do by pushing the keys, but it works. An alternative is to use the BuTel software. It will simplify programming and give you Virtual Control of the scanner through your computer.

If this helps, please give us a rating. A "very helpful" would be greatly appreciated.
