If you are not certain how to clean those types of tiles, you should leave it to the professionals. Check San Diego Best Tile Cleaning Stone Cleaning or join forums where you can talk to people who actually know how to clean those type of tiles. Hope I helped.

There are a couple of things you could try. I recently came across a specific grout/tile cleaner that works well. You can buy it online. It is a type of cream that you spread over the grease and leave for a while. After it has set, you can use a toothbrush (for best results) to scrub off the soap and grease. Otherwise, you can try magic eraser. Those can be used on tiles and get off a lot. Tiles make up such a great aspect of the house, I hope you can clean them up.

Top Tips for Mosaic Art

Mosaics involve assembling small pieces of items such as glass, stone or other materials and putting them together in some kind of pattern that creates a wonderful piece of mosaic art.

If you are new to mosaics, make sure you choose a good project to get started with. Straighter lines are easier for newer mosaic makes, ie take a frame or mirror to work around as curved edges take more experience to navigate.

Certain surfaces are easier to stick mosaics to. Beginners should start with terracotta pottery, glass and cement.

Don't go crazy buying supplies for your mosaic making, but there are certain basics that you will always need, such as;

Grout
Tiles
Adhesive
Nippers
Spreaders
Sponges

Make sure you buy enough supplies to finish the project you are working on. There is nothing worse than getting near the end of a pattern and discovering that you have run out of tiles.

If you are making a mosaic project that you are going to leave outdoors, make sure you use a protector sealant so that it will last.

Ceramic tile installation

To Start a Ceramic Tile Project:
1st: Figure out the Size of the Room-Length x Width. This will give you the suare Footage of the Room, and will Determine the amount of Materials You will need for Preparation of Floor before Tile Installation.

2nd: Pick out the size of Tiles, and the Color you wish to Purchase(Decide if it is a High Traffic Area) Tile Comes in different Grades, and if a High Traffic area, you will need a Higher Grade Tile.

3rd: Materials needed for Preparation- Hardy Backer Board(1/2"-3' x 5'). HardyBoard Screws, Unsanded Mastec, Spacers-Depending on Tile Spacing/size of Tiles, 1' x 4' boards. (Tools Needed- Drill, Chalkline, Measuring tape, 3/16 x 3/16 Trowel, 1/4 x 1/4 trowel).

Installation; )Preparation) 1- Apply a 3/16 x3/16 trowel of Unsanded mastecon floor before laying the Backerboard. Screw the Backer Board to the floor recessing screws. (Never have Backerboard meet with 4 pices meet together, off set each piece of backerboard during Installation). After sweeping the room, use a trowel to fill screw holes with unsanded Mastec. Tape all Joints and fill with un-sanded Mastec.(Let Dry for 24 hours).

Tile Installation:- 1st- Sand Mastec used for joints, and screw holes. 2nd- Sweep roome very good and vacuum very well. 3rd- Measure each wall to find the Center Point of the room.(I prefer nailing a board down across one side of the line to keep tiles straight, and butt tiles to the board, and put spacers in between tiles). I use a 1/4" trowel to butter tiles before laying. With using Spacers, buttering tiles, laying tiles.( I prefer using a 2 x 4 and tap tiles across with a rubber Mallet to keep all tiles same heigth). Let One side tiles laid for 24 hours. 4th- Then do the same thing with other side of line.

Finishing Project: Once all the tiles are set, and all spacers removed. Mix up color of Choice unsanded Grout, and follow Manufacturers mixture Specs. Use grout Float and fill Spacing between Tiles. Let dry for 15 minutes. Use bucket of Clean water and Big sponge rinsing frequently removing all Grout from Tiles. Let dry for 30 minutes, and clean tiles again with Clean Water. Let set overnight. Next day, take Clean towel and rub haze off the tiles. Lastly, Seal Tile and grout.

Enjoy your project, and the Satisfaction of doing it yourself. Hope i was some help!!

While using the rz10 tile cutting wheel the saw has no tourque any kind of resistence the wheel stops

The only tile that they are any decent at cutting would be ceramic, slate, or terracotta. Anything else is way too hard and even cutting the listed tile it's no joy to do. I would suggest using a 4 or 4 1/2" grinder with a diamond blade coupled with a wetsaw. hope this helps and good luck.

Wet saw not cutting material completely

It might need a new blade. But try putting an old tile or offcut behind the tile you are cutting. Make sure the table surface is clean and flat. Residue tends to build up around the front of the blade which could cause the tile to crack. The ryobi's have a habit of water getting into the motor and the bearing destroys itself. Next time you take the blade off, take of the blade support and put bearing grease behind the rubber washer. I've blown up two this year until I worked out what the problem was.

How to use Tile Saw

To cut a tile using a wet tile saw, measure the exact space in which the tile will fit. Cuts are usually along a perimeter, in a corner, or around an electrical outlet. Mark the line on the full-sized tile in grease pencil. Most saws will accommodate tiles up to 12 inches (30 cm) in size, but oversized saws can be rented for huge floor tiles. Wearing safety glasses, place the tile on the moveable platform, and line up the mark with the edge of the saw. With the motor running, slide the platform toward the blade with an even but gentle pressure. Since you are grinding the tile apart, ensure that the water have sufficient time to cool everything.
