please select the model exactly, and proceed with common sense for troubleshooting problem and fix it.
You must shure to see the videos, and see if the parts installed is o.k or are not. You must test the belt is broken, worn, or bad installed. test the motor for brush, bearing and lubrication, and finllay the thermal fuse inside or thermal switch.

Dyson Dc05 The Finger Tip Control how to fix

Hi there, it's Jack at Dyson.

In order to provide further assistance, we would need to understand which particular variant of DC05 you own, as well as exactly which part has broken. Depending on which part is damaged we may be able to talk you through repairing it over the phone.

However just to make you aware, unfortunately since January 2015 we've been unable to support DC05 with spare parts or servicing due to its age. However we have some great discount offers available, so DC05 owners can upgrade to the latest Dyson technology if they choose to do so.

If you'd like to find out more and discuss your options, I'd encourage you to give our freephone UK Helpline a call on 0800 298 0298. We're available from 8am-8pm from Monday to Friday, and 8am-6pm on weekends. Calls are free from UK landlines.

Can you replace dyson on/off switch dc05 turbobrush

There are a number of places that list replacement switches. There are also a number of DC05 models, though the power switch is not likely to vary across them. Amazon, for instance, has a Dyson Switch for models including the DC05 and six other models (see here
Dyson Switch Dc03 Dc04 Dc05 Dc07 Dc08 Dc11 Dc14 On Off )

This video (ostensibly for a DC08, but the procedure should be pretty much identical) shows how to take the unit apart, get at and test the on/off switch, and replace it if need-be.

Dyson DC05 MotorHead schematic

Hi David,

Unfortunately the DC05's Motorhead is supplied as a complete assembly, so we're unable to offer individual components to repair your Motorhead. If you'd like to order a replacement Motorhead assembly, you can do so via our Helpline on 0800 298 0298, or through our online store:

My dc05 gathers dust and pet hair in the filter at the top of the cylinder and does not pass into the cylinder. I have replaced the filters and the sponge.

you have lost the rubber insert at the bottom of the canister. The bottom of the center cone normally fits into this and blocks the bottom of the cone. It would have fallen out when you emptied it.

My dyson dc05 just stopped working, any idea what the fault could be? i,ve had it about 7 years

Guessing that the power plug has broken wiring inside the plug--try replacing the plug with an aftermarket plug from the home center or hardware store. Another possibility is the power switch has gone bad--replace it with the proper part ordered from an appliance parts store. Another part that can go bad is the motor brushes, but that requires that the vacuum be fairly well disassembled. Good luck!

What tool do I need to open a Dyson DC05??

What tool do I need to open a Dyson DC05??
Posted by fixdaddy on Apr 24, 2008
I have a DC05 vacuum cleaner with a few minor problems which I am sure could
easily be fixed if I could open it up. The problem is that the fasteners
(presumably screw heads) are recessed so deeply in the plastic moldings
that I cannot reach them with any tools to find out whether I have the right
one.
Has anyone on this vacuum ever successfully serviced a DC05 to know what
tool is needed so I could buy one.
Thanks in advance

How to remove wheel to access cable storage area? Then ... How to replace electric cable.

Hello,
I would advise you to ALWAYS to FIRST UNPLUG YOUR VACUUM before beginning any service procedure.
I checked with some of my contacts in the vacuum business and they told me that it may not be a United States vacuum and it might be a Canadian or European vacuum and may not be customer friendly to service, if you have a contact with a MAC or Snap On dealer or a metric auto store – show them the screw and they might have something to fit or release the screw head, as per the removing of the wheel and replacing the electric cable, check with your local vac dealer or you may want to check with the Dyson dealer website and or phone # listed below:
