SOURCE: turntable starts playing record middle 1st song

The tonearm lift is no longer level as it should be and the arm is sliding along it under gravity as the arm lowers to the record. Has it received a knock?

Have a close look to see whether it has been tilted slightly. That would be enough to give the problem.

SOURCE: No sound coming from turntable

most likely this is the switch that selects among cd/tape/radio/record player. it could be the preamp circuitry in the player as well. it would not be the cartridge UNLESS you cannot see a little rubber 'seat' up inside underneath the cartridge that pushes the stylus tip out and down towards the record just a bit. if this rubber 'yoke' (seat) is missing you will get no sound even when you touch the needle tip when the record player section is selected.

SOURCE: Turntable will not turn (spin)

It would appear this is a belt drive turntable - here's a link to a site where you can order a replacement, although you may be able to find a cheaper one.

Hope this helps!

SOURCE: Turntable does not turn

Remove the 'E' clip at the center of the turntable. Cup your hand around it and pop it off with a screwdriver. It can fly across the room. Clean the inside rim of the turntable, the rubber drive wheel and the motor post. If you can find "Vita Drive" that's best but Radio Shack will have something comparable. Make sure there is NO film left on any surfaces. At WORST, you will have to replace the drive wheel.

Hi, could just be platter not fitted hard down on spindle. I suggest you remove the platter and place it upon a dead flat surface to check to see that the platter is flat. If it is flat refit to turntable ensuring it is hard down on the spindle. If bent discard and replace with new platter.Platters can be ordered for all model 1200/1210 from styluscity@gmail.com

The plate on my numark tt USB is wobbiling

I find it hard to believe some of these answers. If the platter is wobbling, if you remove the platter, you'll find the spindle the platter rotates on. That will probably be loose. At the bottom of the spindle bearing, you will find a nut. Tighten that, and you should be in business. If you have further questions please visit my website at audioserviceclinic.com. Why does the record keep jumping and slowing down when playing

You mean you have a wobble? Does the whole platter moves or is it your record. Your needle and arm etc. has nothing to do with the motor , so don,t bother watching your tonearm. what do you feel when you remove your platter(the thing where you put your records on) and move the the spindle shaft left right up and down , check that and i need more data, which turntable is the. most important, age, how often is it cleaned and lubricated inside. Cause i know think it's a direct driven turntable.if it's direct driven it's smart to oil the spindle a bit , after first cleaning it and then remove and replace the platter a couple of times, cause maybe ithe platter doesn't get deep enough, cause by dirt and aging and no lubrication. But ONLY when your turntable has a direct drive motor

Needle jumps on all new vinyl, but plays old records fine. New vinyl plays on other turntables without a problem. Do you have any suggestions?

Adjust the balance force up. This is a counterweight on the back of the arm. For most needles it is 1-2 grams.

My need on my turntable jumps around on my records

If it keeps sliding in one direction, it probably needs an anti-skating adjustment or to be put on a level surface. If it jumps all over, the stylus weight is probably too light or the surface it's on isn't stable enough.

Probably the needle, I work on them and many needles are bad from new. They were put on wrong in the first place. Try taking the red part off and make sure there is a needle part and that its straight.

My suggestion is ask a friend etc with a turntable to try the new LP and see if it bounces on there's. If it plays your old stuff it most likely doesn't need a new stylus. Records are records they don't make them any different to what they used to. Check the new LP, is it warped does it have marks where it jumps?

My very old NAD 5025 got a hum noise problem

Check the motor shaft. It could be bent making the pully wobble which makes the whole turntable vibrate which gets passed through the needle. I just found this out on mine. Easy way to test is to hold the platter while the needle is resting on the record. The speakers will hum/wobble at a low frequency. Lift the needle off the record and the sound stops? It's the motor...
