SOURCE: AKG K240S headphones not working well.

A buzz in one ear and no sound in the other 'sounds' like an open connection inside the headphones. The K240-series uses three wires from the pin to the headphones. SOURCE: Right speaker is not operating on a set of AKG headphones.

Go in by the part that fits to your ear. You will need to remove the ear pad. Also the foam, you might have to force the foam off, you can glue it back when done. With them gone you should see access screws.

Headset earpiece assembly has become detached from headband assembly. The post does not want to go back into the hole on the earpiece assembly bracket. What do I do?

The headband post can only be inserted into the earpiece when the earpiece has been sufficiently rotated. (Note that the hole and post are a 'D' shape, not round.) The installed ear cushion is preventing you from rotating the earpiece sufficiently.

Remove the ear cushion from the earpiece by carefully pulling it off so you do not damage the clips that hold it on or the gasket material between the cushion and the earpiece. There are six clips, three on each side.

Now you can rotate the earpiece into the position where the headband post can be inserted into the earpiece.

Carefully reinstall the ear cushion by pressing it onto the plastic clips. Note that it can only be installed one way with the internal plastic support towards the headband.

Broken headband

You can try to strip a little bit of the jacket off the wires and twist them together securely. Then use a little bit of electrical tape to wrap the bare wire. After, you can tape the head piece back together...... or you could buy some new headphones.

How can i open my AKG k141 studio headphone to repair it ?

I had a problem with my AKG K141 Studio headset. The right side stopped working. Hard to believe but one of the leads to the ear speaker was disconneted from the solder lug. To disassemble, pry the gold AKG emblem using a jeweler's screw driver. You can pry it without damage by locating a small notch on the black plastic rim at the 6 o'clock position. Then unscrew ththe tiny phillips screw and remove black disc. You will see two leads (red and white) feeding through a hole. Disassemble removing a larger screw. This will give you accesss to the solder lugs.

The left and right ear bud work some times. and if i turn the base were you plug it into the device it coukd work how can i fix it so they can both work at the same time.

Probably can't. What typically happens is that the base of the wire gets stressed from wrapping the cord around you media player and it eventually breaks the copper wire inside of the insulation. You likely can not even see the damage, let alone repair it. Be more carefull with the next set, and might I recommend a set of AKG ear buds. I use AKG studio headphones and bought my little sister some AKG ear buds, very impressive quality very close to my studio headphones. AKG K 313

How do you disassembly right side headset to fix faulty connection

The headphone unit is sealed and cannot be accessed via the padded ear pads. You have to prise open the outer headphone cover which breaks off 4 internal attachment points (which can be re glued for re assembly). Be careful on the Left hearphone as it contains a complex electronic circuit board.

Need instructions for replacement of headband and ear cushions.

It should be easy - I just eased mine out by pulling on the top and bottom parts of the headphone cushion/pad.

Hope that helps
