How do I correct the "busy" issue

a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.

Fro our Fixya community:
Try holding down the OK, Cancel, Black, and Color buttons all at once. While holding them down, press the On button to power it off (You may need another person if you lack large, coordinated hands). Turn it back on while still holding the other buttons down. You will notice it turn itself off before "booting" fully. After it turns itself off, you can finally let go of those buttons and turn it back on normally. This will force a reset and system maintenance.
If I could be of further assistance, let me know. If this helps or solves the issue, please rate it.

SOURCE: i have a hp c6280
I had this same problem with my c6280.
I got fed up (HP only added frustration) and decided to trash it and buy something new.
So I figured I would take it apart and see if it was something obvious, worst thing that could happen was that the printer would not work - allready there.
Here is what I found.
Taking the covers off of this printer is not easy, but after removing all accessable screws I was able to get the covers off.
I found the pump motor on the left side of the printer (it is labled).
The pump motor has a large (approx 2 in) gear on it that is drivin by a belt with teeth.
The other end of the belt is drivin by a small (approx 3/8 in) gear.
There are two belt tensioners on each side of the belt.
PROBLEM; The belt was not riding on one of the tensioners.
This causes the belt to intermitenly engage the gears (stalled pump motor).
I put the belt back on the tensioner, put the covers back on (a real pain).
Printer now works fine.
I think that this may have been a problem out of the box because the lound clicking noise that came with the printer has also gone away.
