Re: HP 2610 printer chopping upper part of letters off.

It sounds like your cartridge is bad.  You should try replacing them might have gotten a bad one.

Or try this:

Get the printer to move the carriage away from the side where it normally rests. Look inside there, and beneath the rest area, sometimes there is a little rubber stamp that presses up against the cartridges. It usually is filled with dry ink. Take a wet paper tower (probably several of them) and try to get as much ink as you can up. Also, there is sometimes a little rubber wiper that cleans the printhead as it passes by. Make sure this is clean also.

Now take the cartridges out. Get another clean paper towel, sopping with water. Press the nozzels down against it, but don't wipe. Just dab them, until you're getting some solid lines of ink on the towel.

Then look for the pattern of copper colored dots on the cartridge. Clean this with alcohol, and then look inside the printer where these dots (contacts) would line up inside the carriage. There will be a smilar pattern of dimples. Clean these with alcohol, and let it dry.

If possible, you might want to try to fit a towel damp with water beneath the print carriage (where the paper runs through).  This collects a lot of ink sometimes.  Be careful not to force anything.
Finally, put it all back together and try your print.

My printer -X1185 prints the page with a 3 inch blank area on the left side and some of the right side printing is off the page. This is typical in my e mail page, and even if I center the letter on...

Web site designers create Web pages for display on a monitor, not for users to print on 8.5- x 11-inch pieces of paper. This becomes obvious the first time you try to print a Web page. Content you need may get chopped off by the right printer margin, whereas content you don’t need, such as the site’s copyright information, will print on its own sheet of paper. Fortunately, you can avoid such problems with a little foresight.

Before printing any Web page, open Internet Explorer’s File menu and select Print Preview. The current Web page will appear on-screen exactly as it will print on paper. Scan the preview carefully. If it appears that some content is chopped off by the right margin, click the Page Setup button located directly to the right of the Print button in the upper-left corner of the Print Preview window. In the resulting Page Setup dialog box, adjust the left and right margins so that each is set to 0.25 inches. The extra inch of space you gain by resetting the margins should provide just enough room to accommodate all of the content on most sites. Click OK to save the changes and return to the Print Preview window.

Next, scan the preview to determine which pages contain the content you want to print. Take note of those pages and click the Print button in the upper-left corner of the Print Preview window. Locate the Print Range heading and select the Pages option. Type the number of the first page you want to print in the From field and type the number of the last page you want to print in the To field. For instance, if you want to print just the first three pages of a Web page’s content, type 1 in the From field and type 3 in the To field. If your browser doesn’t have To and From fields, type the range of pages (such as 1-3) in the corresponding field. Make sure your printer has paper and click Print.

You need to clean the nozzles of the ink cartridge by dabbing on a wet paper towel folded many times, after the water you dab on a dry area to see if there's a solid black line. If it's a refilled cartridge it could be just worn out, they're only good for about 2 refills.

Make sure the paper tray sensor flag has not been dislodged. Look up inside the tray area and also if the back door area opens up, check in there. The flag should move freely>

HP Photosmart 2610 may need to remove that premium plus option, through the system preferences folder. Then re install the drivers(get em here for updates) for the Inkjet printer. And be sure to only select the features you really want.
