SOURCE: can't engage drill or hammer settings on de walt dc 925 xrp

Try turning the ring to 2 or 3 and run the drill holding the chuck so the clutch slips then try turning it to drill setting. Also try to do it in different speed settings. If not it sounds like a fault in the gear module. It might just be a metal clip just under the clip in side. Undo the 4 screws holding the gearbox onto the housing and carefully remove it, you might see the fault or loads of dirt that needs cleaning. Go to http://www.2helpu.com/world/map.aspx for a drawing.

My DEWALT DC 618 angled finish nail gun won't fire When switch is moved from single fire to sequential fire the yellow light just stays lit Without trigger depressed

Could be one of several things - first, check the contact element (part that touches the wood) make sure it is not bent & moves up and down with the linkage freely.
These are also very sensitive to volt/amps - if your battery is not up to par you can also have malfunctions like this.
Last, open the front metal cover (3 screws) and inspect to see if the return bands are in place and not broken. These are located at the top on either side of the driver blade. This is the most common repair on this tool.
Let me know if this helps.

My dewalt dc 618c won't fire out nails when nailing doorstop heads. But I does nail the uprights??

Most nailers have a pressure sensitive safety feature surrounding or near the nailer head. This is so that they won't fire unless pressed against a surface. You may not be holding the nailer against the doorstop head board with enough force to release that safety.

My bostitch bt1855 nail gun worked fine, until it started to dry fire 2inch nails. No problem with firing quarter inch nails. Any ideas?

Have you serviced it recently? and is the gas in date? The pistons do dry out and have to be oiled with special oil.

Nail comes out another hole

are you using the right nails and are they inserted properly if this is an angle gun? Also look for a jammed nail that might be causing this. look at the magazine bolts to make sure they are tight. You can go to Paslode.com for the owners manual and troubleshooting guide.

Dewalt dc618 nailer is not firing

I have both the DC616 and 618 and have used them sucessfully for about three years. Two main things go wrong. There is a drive belt that breaks (drives the spool that give the energy to drive in the nails), second are two small rubber bands on either side of the drive head that break. The bands can be accessed by taking off the front silver cover, the drive belt is access by spliting the case. Make sure you are using the correct nails or the drive pin may become bent and will jamb repeatedly. Hope that helps!
