Without a whole lot to go on other than the failure description, all I can give you is my best guess:
If the projector won't advance OR reverse OR select, here's what you're up against: Listen carefully when you push Forward or Reverse. If you hear any kind of clicking, buzzing, you have a broken solenoid link You can contact www.micro-tools.com for parts. It's not easy to replace the link, but it is do-able. See the attached diagram.

SOURCE: Just purchased a Kodak Ektagraphic AF1 &

The model AF-1 did not have remote focus feature. It does have the Auto-Focus feature. The auto-focus adjustment is a pretty "fine-tune" adjustment that requires a factory alignment tool & a trained hand.
Your model AF is quite old, and probably requires replacement of the "link" that connects the slide change solenoid to the slide change mechanism. The problem is the plastic the "link" was made of gets brittle over the years and cracks, rendering slide change non-functional.
Both problems are easily remedied by a qualified repair dealer with the tools, training and parts.

SOURCE: tray will not advance in foward or reverse on the

The problem with your Kodak AF-2 is a broken LINK that connects the CYCLE SOLENOID PLUNGER to the CYCLE LEVER. This LINK is plastic, and gets brittle & cracks over time. You can still get parts to make this repair from: www.micro-tools.com
If you need more help, search out an Authorized Repair Dealer.
Good Luck !! Jim

Sony sd card wont work on my kodak af 3x

My guess: your sony card is a SDHC card. Or when it can store more than 32 Gbyte, it is a SDXC card. Both won't work in your Kodak camera, because it only can handle MMC and SD cards.
You still can buy SD cards, but most of the time they can't handle more than 2 Gbyte. Take care, because most memory cards with 2 Gb capacity are already SDHC.

My kodak af 3x is frozen the lens wont close and it wont turn on. The light is constantly flashing green. It was working fine and then went black and is frozen.

First you should take out the battery. Then give it a few seconds and reinsert the battery. Make sure there is enough power in the battery.
The camera should start from scratch. (Cold boot) and it should detect the lens is out. Then it should retract.
If there is a visible defect on the outside of the lens perhaps it won't work.
On the other hand, if the lens stays out, it could be there is a defect on the inside of the camera. Something mechanical in the lens barrel, something electrical like a bad connection off a (flat)cable, or just the electronics.
If the error comes back, you should visit a service centre.

Kodak Ektagraphic AF-1 will not advance or reverse

If the select button functions correctly, Chances are the direction lever in the mechanism is bound up or the Direction Lever Spring is broken. If the Spring is broken or the Direction Lever is bound up, the Index Lever will go out straight when the Advance / Reverse buttons are pushed - instead of moving out straight , then moving forward or reverse at a 45 degree angle.
The Slide Change mechanism needs to be re-built. The bad news is this projector was manufactured from 1976 to 1984. Kodak scrapped the repair parts in the early 1990's. Your best bet is to find a repair shop that has a projector that they can salvage parts for your projector from.... Good Luck !!

I'm trying to find a manual for a Kodak ektagraphic AF-3

You should still be able to get an AF-3 manual (e-copy) from the Kodak website, or contact the George Eastman House Museum. Good Luck!

Slides won't advance or reverse

The AF-2 is suffering from old age! The problem you are experiencing is "continuous cycle", and is caused by the cycle contact either being bent or worn to the point it can't stop the cycle camstack at the end of a slide change. If you are familiar with projector repair, I can give you specific instructions. Otherwise, I suggest you locate an authorized repair dealer. Even though the projector is old, all the necessary parts are available from: www.micro-tools.com

My Kodak Ektagrafic AF-1 Projector just stopped advancing and reversing while I was reviewing slides. I had been using both forward and reverse buttons. There is nothing stuck in it. It will not advance...

The KODAK Ektagraphic AF-1 was manufactured from approximately 1971 to 1981.
The problem you are describing is most likely a broken cycle solenoid "link". The "link" connects the cycle solenoid to the slide change mechanism. The "link" is made of plastic, which gets hard, brittle & could break over time.
Parts are still available, but the repair process is a intricate one. My best advice is to seek out an Authorized Repair Dealer.

Kodak Zi8 Digital HD Camera playback problem

I hope uploading new firmware would improve the quality of your recording: Connect the camera with the computer.
Turn the camera on.
Click onto the link and follow the instructions.
http://wwwuk.kodak.com/global/mul/service/downloads/DownloadLookup.jhtml?pq-path=15372/15504&product=EKN036561

If it can be of any help I did manage to find information on how can I eliminate noise during video recording on the Zi8:
Turn off Continuous AF (auto focus) to prevent recording camera noise during video capture. When you turn off Continuous AF, you may notice a narrower area of focus or depth of field, especially if you zoomed to a telephoto position before recording.
  1. Turn the Mode dial to Video, then press the Menu button.
  2. Highlight the Continuous AF menu, then press the OK button.
  3. Highlight Off or Single AF (certain models), then press the OK button. (On is the default.)
  4. Press the Menu button to turn off the menu screen.
This setting remains until you change it, change the Mode dial, or turn off the camera.

Good luck I hope one or both solutions will help the problem
