Hi, it might be the laser head is faulty or hvps is faulty. Try do an test print from the printer by press and hold the buttun for 5 sec or so. If it doesn't print. Try to clean the laser head which is able to be found under the printer with 3 screw. Do not power on the printer and look at the laser head this might cause blindness. After clean place back the laser head and test print. If same issue, try with a new sets of toner. If this still don't work you have to engage an technicians to either replace the laser head or hvps.
You need to clean the print head and insert the cartridge and check, whether it is working at fine because a dirty printer header will not allow the right formulation of the basic cyan, magenta, and yellow to print and comes up with the yellow color and not red. If you still face the problem after cleaning print head then you need to check for a clogged nozzle. Clean the nozzle and then try printing it will work fine now. To clean the print head from the Utility section found in the printer driver, clean the print heads by performing a head cleaning followed by printing a nozzle check pattern. Furthermore, you can clean the print head by Using a cotton Q-Tip & Isopropyl Alcohol and gently rub the print head with alcohol.
Hope this helps.

I got the same problem. I researched and found out it's the print head, you know the thing that moves side to side that releases the ink onto the paper. You either have to replace the print head( which costs around $50.00) or buy a print head cleaning kit because it might have dried ink in it. Hope this works for you( the kit didn't work for me, had to get a new print head)
The problem you are having is with the print head and not the printer. Unfortunately, with these canon print heads, they are not dated, so it is possible to install a print head that was bought new and sealed, but is still dried out because it is old.
Try running the print head through one deep cleaning cycle, this sometimes will start to get an old print head flowing.
Deep cleaning cycle can be found by going to PRINTERS , right clicking on the BJC icon, selecting PROPERTIES from the drop down menu, and then selecting the MAINTAINENCE tab.
Check to make sure that the ink tank in the print head isn't dry. Even a new print head can have a dry tank if it's old.
The ink has dried in the print head. If the print head comes out, remove it and apply rubbing alcohol or water with a paper towel to the nozels to disolve the ink. Once the ink seems to be fluid, replace the print head and ink cartridges, do a head cleaning and try printing again.
If the print head cannot be removed, get a childs medicine syringe, draw in some rubbing alcohol. Remove the non printing carts and apply a couple of small drops of alcohol to each ink port on the print head. apply some more drops to the ink port of the carts and replace and try a head cleaning and print.
If this does not work, continue to ask for help. The aim is to save the print head, not buy a new printer.
