Depends what version of katana you are looking at...

the older ones do NOT record video... only one of the newer ones do... if you cannot figure it out... look at your product manual (the one that came with the phone) and see if it tells you there... if it doesn't, then you have an older version of the katana...

Will these remotes work for the vcr that is connected to the tv?

Many of the modern remotes have no codes for VCR only CD/DVD. The VCR generation is supposed to be dead as no big players are making them anymore. One can purchase Digital Video recorders which will record on Hard Disc or directly on CD/DVD's with out any loss of picture quality. And some of the recorders can record more than 500 hours of High Quality videos !!!

Hi chinonsobeau,

First off, you to list the model number of your HP web Cam, as well as your OS, and the software you using to record your sound. I will assume that you have Quickplay which HP ususally send out with their web cams.

To access QuickPlay, just press the "blue QuickPlay button" next to the power button. If it doesn't load QuickPlay, just do "Start" - "All Programs" - then you will see QuickPlay listed there. If you still can't find it just do a search, you will find the short-cut. If you still don't find it, then HERE is a place you can download it and use it. It also has instruction on how to use it.

Or sometimes HP sends out Cheese, another camera software. You can download that HERE.

These are the instructions for QuickPlay:

Once launched QuickPlay, click on the 2nd icon from left (between DVD and TV icon), then double-click on "HP Pavilion WebCam" from the left side panel, then you will see the blue LED light lit and you should see yourself on the screen. (Double-click "yourself" to enlarge image)

To take a picture or record video, just press the corresponding buttons on the top. (the red circle icon is for recording video (press "Stop" icon to stop recording), the camera icon is for, well, camera)
Videos and pictures are saved at:
Pictures -- C:\Users\Public\Pictures\My Snapshots
Videos -- C:\Users\Public\Videos\HP Webcam

I'm less familiar with Cheese, so I'll give you their website HERE to go to their support and they can guide you through their program.

Anyway, I hope this helps,

Don't forget to leave a raing,

Thanks

Mark
