My Whirlpool ET8WTKXKT0 doesn't cooling down. The fan is working, but the compressor like dead. What I have to check? Thanks. Victor

Its the problem with compressor,The problem is weak compressor. The refrigerant ( R12) in the compressor is got low.The compressor is weak. The compressor needs to be replaced.-------------- The working procedure of this unit is as follows: --- The compressor starts then it cools the freezer section. When the freezer reaches its cooling level the defrost cycle starts functioning. In this cycle the fan in the freezer section starts running and the cool air in the freezer section is passed to the fridge section and the fridge section gets cold. The air from freezer to refrigerator passes from the section, in that section the damper is located.------------ But as you mentioned that freezer not cooling this indicates problem with compressor. When compressor cools the freezer section then fridge section gets cold.If freezer section is not getting properly cold then fridge section will not cool properly/.So the problem relates to compressor.---------- In the compressor there is a refrigerant called FREON.With the help of this Freon the compressor cools the freezer section.Freon is a gaseous type cooling agent. The compressor will stop cooling when coolant gets leaked from its chamber.--------- Again recharging the Freon is possible, but the cost for that recharging is approx the cost of new compressor. So its always advisable to get compressor replaced.Because new compressor has warranty for few years.------------------ You can get required parts from from online sites like: --- www.repairclinic.com or from searspartsdirect online site. --------- This should help.Thanks.Helpmech.

Iceream is not freezing

The temperature is not set to high cooling.First check the temperature setting. But if temperature is set right and still the ice cream is not cooling then .Problem relates to weak compressor. ------------- The problem is weak compressor. The refrigerant ( R12) in the compressor is got low.The compressor is weak. The compressor needs to be replaced.-------------- The working procedure of this unit is as follows: --- The compressor starts then it cools the freezer section. The freezer is not freezing. Is cold only.

The problem which you mentioned is related to faulty/ weak compressor.--------- I will explain with more detail.------

My beverage air refrigator ri18 compressor turns on sounds like it works but doesnt get cold

1) Check the compressor working or not.. Air cooling type condenser fan may be not working properly.
2) Compressor working but not properly. Last side of condenser (Filter) Light Heat or not.
3) Inside Cooling area do not get cooling. may be gas leakage problem.
4) My opinion check Gas pressure Low and high side.

My 2 door fridge - the lights are on but does not work means does not get cold. No humming noise either. For a while I was resetting the temp to off and back to 3 or 4 then it starts working for 2-8...

So when the thermostat settting was changed the compressor worked but did it cool? if not switch off the compressor for about 8 hours and then switch on with the thermostat set to normal cooling, if the compressor cools the watch the progress further , if cooling drops the next day check the auto defrostt timer.
if there is no cooling then the compressor or gas pressure is low.

Will not switch to cool mode. heat and fan work fine

hi,
regarding on switch mode theres a common line between heating and cooling although fan is always connect on them.,also with the thermostat, the sequence on this when you switch to cooling and your connection is on heater, the contactor will shift to compressor source,so if there is no cooling, the contactor supplying the compressor is not functioning when you switch on cool mode.try to tighten screw on compressor relay maybe only loose.on control panel,or check continuity of compressor if the compressor still good, check also the freon charge using clamp ammeter, this should be done by ac technician.have a nice day
rate me up,thank's
