Where do i connect the power control wire to ? I have a kenwood amp kac 7202, I'm connecting it to a stock cd receiver in toyota corolla 2004

Hello sophnettliss,

Most stock receivers do not have a dedicated amp remote lead and your 2004 Corolla is no exception.

The amp remote can be connected to any switched and fused 12V + source including the OEM receiver accessory wire which is the gray wire in your receiver harness.

Hope this helps.

The Red & Black wires connected to my AMP touched

You blew the inline fuse on the AMP power wire. If it was not fused "inline" you may have blown a fuse internal to the amp. Look on the amp(or consult the manual) for the location of fuses "internal" to the amp.

sounds like you have a problem with your grounding on you amplifier. check for shorts on your amplifier and the place where you have it grounded. (or check the power wire also.)

Keep poping the 40 amp fuse on the amps itself when the volume is up at all it seems

Your units drawing too much current. it could be a wireing problem, a speaker problem, or the amp has a problem. the correct way to troubleshoot this would first do or have the amp bench tested. Or you can remove all the speakers and wires and turn up the amp. If the fuse still pops, have the amp serviced. Good Luck
