I think a virus came through my yahoo acct. How do I fix it?

Depending on your OS and revision, its possible, but probably not a virus. You might have downloaded a Windows virus, which would only affect any Windows PCs that come in to contact with your system.

Whether or not you have, in fact, a virus on your Mac, I recommend getting an Anti-Virus program.

Check out Sophos.com. They have a free version that is fully functional. They usual suspects have Mac versions, too... Symantec and McAfee.

Once installed, do a full scan to see if any viruses are detected, and take appropriate action.

Looking for anti virus for Apple mac os 9.2

Mac, like linux, does not often get viruses and anti-virus software would pretty much be useless. Virus developers don't target Mac or Linux OS'es because not enough people use them. To do so would be a waste of their time.

I recommend to instal McAfee VirusScan for Mac. McAfee VirusScan for Mac includes detections for exploits, viruses, trojans, worms, and spyware that threatens Macs, PCs, and Unix systems. On access scanning provides realtime protection while drag and drop scanning facilitates a quick check of newly downloaded files. McAfee VirusScan for Mac retails for approximately $37 per license with discounts for bulk purchases

I think I got a virus on my Mac

Hi kvarby,

You can check for both viruses and trojans by using ClamXav.

It is a free download that can be found here.

The download link is on the left hand side of the page. The current version is 1.1.1

Alternatively, you can use iAntiVirus. It is also a free download which can be found here.

It wouldn't hurt to install the other one after you have finished scanning with the first one.

If this doesn't solve your problem:

Are you running windows in any capacity on your mac?

What problems are you having and when are they occuring?

Nathan.

Greetings. Running QB Pro 2007 for Mac. When opening company file, a duplicate file is somehow created and now I have my two bookkeepers' work amongst too many files. How did this happen and how to fix???

Delete your existing sync depot and create a new one. Then create a new blank customer manager database on each users computer and then sync them to the new depot. That will make the file duplication stop.

There really is no reason to download a virus scanner onto a mac because there aren't any viruses designed for mac. Plus, macs have security built in to run in the background against threats.
