SOURCE: Wifi saying unable to scan networks

Hello!
Here are the things you can try for a malfunctioing Wi-Fi on your Galaxy S:
Try turning off your Wi-Fi then turn it on again.

  • Sometimes, this works for me as the Wi-Fi might need a restart so it can try scanning again. You can do so by going to Settings > Wireless and Network > Wi-Fi Settings and ticking the Wi-Fi checkbox.
Turn off your handset then turn it on again.
  • An app that was running on your handset might be messing with your Wi-Fi, so to make all things better, you can restart your handset for a fresh boot. :)
Check if there are actually Wi-Fi networks in your area or the Wi-Fi is too weak.
  • If there aren't any Wi-Fi networks to detect, it can't do anything at all in the first place. Try moving to an area with better Wi-Fi signal.

You can ask me if you have any queries! :) ~azukibean70

Why has my mobile phone WiFi stopped working at home?

Open your wifi on the phone and press and hold the wifi network that you want to connect to then click (modify) re-enter the security code for the wifi network again and then connect. If that does not work then the wifi signal is weak and you'll need to get closer to your router.

Another thing is to choose United States for your Wifi Region in the wifi advanced settings menu.
-- uncheck (avoid poor connections)
-- check scanning always available
-- Wifi Region Code (select United States)

I hope that helps

Wifi wont connect and some other

well, the signal, may be good, but if theirs a huge amount of people on the same acess point, things get messy. if u have alot of people using the same network, the internet becomes laggy, and even if u have a good signal, the internet can be very laggy, and lose connection alot, it depends on the amount of people using the same network, so at home u have only u and ur family connected, at school more people might be connected to the network than at home.

Will not stop scanning for networks...

One other issue I always encounter is that I have to disable both of the "power conservation" settings that would allow the Axim to shut off the WLAN radio when the battery goes low. Having them enabled (which happens by default) seems to keep my Axim from locking onto our WiFi. When I disable them, I get an immediate strong connection.

You can find these settings under the Dell WLAN ultility.
