Dehumidifier repair

If nothing at all works, its most likely a control (switch or stat). Be very careful if you try jumping them. Line voltage is dangerous if your not sure of what your doing.

Fill light on and beeps but holding tank is empty

If it is like mine, the plastic part attached to the float in the collection bucket is broken and no longer actuates the switch that indicates the collection bucket (holding tank) is full. When I checked several years ago, the replacement part was no longer available. I used tape to keep the switch in the position that allowed the dehumidifier to operate and attached the hose connector to allow the condensate to drain. The collection bucket isn't needed anymore with this arrangement.

The float switch will not shut off so the container over flows. I have been trying to replace the CHERRY Snap Action Switch, P/N KWJE0001, but can't find any one to sell me just one switch. Can...

I have the exact same problem. Does anyone know where to buy a replacement KWJE 0001 switch? It's crazy to throw away a $200 humidifier because of a broken $2 switch!
Thanks,
Paul

Dehumidifier won't come on when i re insert the reservoir

there is a microswitch that is activated when you push the reservoir home, it sounds like the switch arm has either come adrift or needs reseating, or the nodule on the reservoir is not activating the switch, either worn or broken. hope this helps.

A Question

You can test the humidistat fairly easily, using a volt-ohm meter. Just set the meter to RX1 scale and attach its leads to the humidistat's terminals. Rotate the humidistat's knob as far as it will turn in both directions. If the volt-ohm meter registers zero ohms through only part of the humidistat dial's range, the humidistat is working. If it registers zero through the entire range, it's broken and must be replaced. Dehumidifier Overflow Cutoff Switch Test- Using a volt-ohm meter, you can tell if the overflow switch works or not. Clip the leads to the terminals on the switch. Depress the bar or trip lever on the switch. If the meter's needle doesn't show continuity and no continuity as the switch is clicked back and forth, the switch is probably faulty and will need replacement.
