Question about Sony Car Audio & Video
It shuts off after being on for about 3 seconds, also the antenna seems to slide out of the designated slot and i have one loose component that isn't connected to the radio at all, is this the problem?

SOURCE: "Antenna" prompt
your sure connect antenna is bad that is why you get this message or you have something hooked up wrong check the power and ground on the unit if it has one .... some have it, some dont but most of the time its just a bad wire

A antenna issue would be all the time, not come and go, this is what I have learned from 100's of repairs, I would suggest you make sure the radio has a good ground to the chassis, a poor ground will cause these kinds of static issues.

Should be a dome light in the interior that lines up with antennae on roof if it's same as I remember. Remove interior light and there should be screws in there holding base of antennae to roof. If it's just a broke off mast, try to unscrew stud from base & replace.
