This symptom is typical of a failing regulator. Try replacing the regulator and hose, easy to do and inexpensive.

Burner won't turn on

The first question I have is the flame size good on the 2 burners that did light? If the flames are smaller, then you might just need to turn off the tank and disconnect it, then reconnect it and very slowly turn the tank valve on again. You might have turned the tank valve on too fast causing the excess flow valve to close and only give a trickle of gas through. On the other hand, if the flame size was good on both burners, then your igniter may not be lighting the rear burner, but typically if the other 2 burners light, the 3rd burners lights off the others. Did you try lighting the 3rd burner manually with a lighter to see if it was getting gas? If it lights manually, then the spark igniter may be your problem. It's also possible the rear burner has clogged holes from rust or drippings and is difficult to light. Without seeing it, it's just the process of elimination til it works. Try all those things and see if that gets it going for you. Check out my tips & tricks on gas grill lighting for more detailed info. Gas furnace, main burner ignites the other 2 don't. then shutdn.

Between the burners is a small rail in the pressed steel where the flame runs across to light the other burners and it sounds like there is dirt or debris in the step over rails causing the problem. You will need to use some compressed air on those rails to clear them out. Once the rails are clear the other two burners should ignite right away.

When I light the 3rd burner they all go out. This

Try disconnecting the regulator and reconnecting then open the gas valve slowly. If that dosn't work the tank may need to be purged if it is new.

Second burner will not light

I don['t know the answer but I have the identical problem. 1st & 3rd burner lights but little if any gas getting to second burner. Might be blockage. How do you disassemble burners to clean?

Ist burner will light, 2nd burner lights only after delay.

You don't say how old it is - could it be that the jet is corroded? They are only a few bucks to replace and are really the only part in your grill that controls how ignition happens.

Ignition problem on 2nd and 3rd tube

You may have to take them out and blow the burners out with an air compressor. It is very hard to tell if they are stopped up internally.
