How do I register my shark model NV42?

Shark has no customer service dept. They do not make parts, and the machines are non repairable. If you just bought it, take it back and get your money back before it's too late. Quality vacs can be purchased for the same amount of money. Miele, Sebo, Riccar are all better and in the same price range.

Cheryl, there should be an 800 number on some of the papers that came with the vac that you could call to ask for the nearest servicing shop.

Does the shark professional vacuum have a reset button?

Hello, this is Ava with Think Crucial

Your Shark model has a thermostat reset feature. If motor should overheat, the thermostat shuts off the power. The link below is the User's Manual for your Shark Vacuum which includes resetting your unit.

I cannot remove the brush roller on the Shark Navigator Lift-Away. It has thread caught in it that cannot be removed without actual removing the brush roller.

Hi, it's Ambrai from Crucial Vacuum.

Your Shark NV22 has small wheels underneath the head of the vacuum that need to be popped out. The wheels hide screws that need to be taken out along with the three other visible screws. Using a flat and sturdy object, pry out the wheels. After unscrewing all of the screws, you will be able remove the cover and access your brush roller.

While you're repairing your Shark NV22, why not replace your hose and/or filters? For optimal performance, it is recommended that you change your filter every three to six months.

My hose cracked on my ep238

I've had the hose brake on this vac at both top and bottom several times. You can pinch the ears that hold the hose assembly to the wand and vac connection and get at the piece that the hose screws into. Remove the old piece, cut the hose cleanly and screw back in, then snap back together. They don't seem to have this hose anymore and since the vac also has problems with its cord assembly I'd say your best bet is a new vac once the hose can't be fixed anymore.
