Proform xp 680 crosstrainer treadmill trouble shooting

The incline motor was disconnected when I acquired the unit. When I connect the motor and insert the safety key the motor only runs in one direction. I can reverse the polarity of the motor power leads to reverse the direction of rotation but it still just continues to run and does not appear to be affected by the proximity sensor when I run the motor in either direction.

If I understand correct, the treadmill will not run correct unless you have the safety key in. Well yes this is correct because once the safety key is removed the treadmill will stop. If your treadmill is running extremely fast just by turning it on, you may need a new speed sensor. www.AtlantaFitnessRepair.com

Treadmill will not level out and motor sounds all the time

If the incline moves but only just a bit, it could be a problem as simple as the gearbox on the motor being jammed. We remove the motor from the treadmill, reconnect the wiring, and then try to run the incline motor outside the treadmill. Many times, this will unjam it if that is the problem and then reinstalling it in the treadmill will get it to work. If you have the same problem or it doesn’t run outside the machine and you can hear it try to work, you need to replace the incline motor.

My pro-form tredmill is stuck on incline and will not let me do anything. I am freaking out. Please what do I do?

TAKE FRONT COVER OFF, THERE ARE 3 WIRES 1RED 1BLACK 1WHITE. REVERSE THE RED AND BLACK, THE INCLINE WILL DROP WHEN IT GETS WHERE YOU WANT IT DISCONNECT WHITE WIRE. YOU NEE TO REPLACE MOTOR OR USE IT IN THAT POSITION LEAVE WHITE WIRE DISCONNECTED.

Incline does not work

ProForm Treadmills have a reset procedure for the incline function. With the key inserted in the console, activate the incline; while the incline is changing, remove the key. Wait 30 seconds, then replace the key. The incline should to maximum, then to minimum, resetting its limits. It worked for mine just 10 minutes ago; the procedure is in the manual if you have it. Good luck!

My treadmill proform835QT fails to incline. What can I do?

Try to calibrate the incline: Hold down the stop and speed up buttons at the same time then insert the key. release the buttons the press the stop button and release then press the incline up button. the incline motor should go all the way up then all the way down with - - on the console. If the unit only moves just a and inch or so or the motor just hums , the incline sensor is faulty.
