I had the same issue. What I discovered is that when the pump removes the butter it creates a vacume inside the butter vessel. the pump has a hard time overcomming the created vacume. I have drilled an 1/8" hole in the top to allow air to replace the removed butter.

Hi my mixer suddenly stopped when i was working on it. The butter i was beating was kinda hard is that a reason it stopped?

Does the mixer not turn on at all or the beater just wont turn? Depending on the mixer it could have a fuse that shuts the mixer off if over heated, but it could also be gears.

If you can get the model off of the bottom of the mixer, and then give a bit more information on how it is not working then we can help you with the repair.

Also yes, the butter would most likely be the reason the mixer stopped working. You are supposed to use butter that is soft & at room temperature. I find that if you are in a rush or forgot to soften the butter you can cut it up into small slices and then cream it in your mixer and it doesn't strip the gears.

GE Profile refrigerator model PFSS6KW/PFSF6PKW not making ice.

Ice dispenser doesn't work
  1. Dispenser control board
If the ice dispenser is not functioning at all the most likely cause is going to be the dispenser control board. The dispenser control board governs the major portion of the systematic functions of the dispenser and is less likely to be the issue if only certain components are malfunctioning. If the dispenser control board is at fault, it will need to be replaced.
  1. Water inlet valve & low water pressure from house supply
If the ice dispenser on your refrigerator is not working properly, one of the first things to consider as an issue is the water pressure to your appliance. The ice dispenser cannot properly function with a psi less than 20. If psi is appropriate, proceed to replace the water inlet valve to correct the issue. You may also be dealing with low household water pressure. This low flow can be examined by using a water pressure test gauge. Once the household water pressure is resolved, you can double check your refrigerator connection to ensure it is now flowing properly and that the ice dispenser is functioning.
  1. Water tube in door is frozen
If the ice dispenser is not working on your refrigerator, the issue could be a frozen water supply tube located in the door. Although this may be a tricky problem to locate, the first thing to do is find a connection point in the tube. After this has been found, attempt to blow air through the tube. If the air flows freely through the tube, it is not frozen and this is not the issue. If it does not, the tube is frozen and needs to be removed to thaw out. As it thaws, attempt to ascertain why it froze and correct the positioning of the tubing to prevent the issue from occurring again in the future.
  1. Dispenser switch
If the refrigerator ice dispenser is not working properly you could be dealing with a defective dispenser switch. Activated by the dispenser actuator, the switches are responsible for numerous actions including ice cube disbursement, type of ice, and water controls. The switch can be tested using an ohm meter and should be replaced if it does not reveal continuity.
  1. Door switch
If the refrigerator ice dispenser is not working, the functionality of the door switch can be inspected. This switch is responsible for turning on the light in the freezer and simultaneously turning off the ice dispenser when the freezer door is opened. If this switch malfunctions, it will show no continuity on the ohm meter and will require replacement.

Wha is a warmer

A warmer can mean two things when considering a refrigerator. The first will be a evaporator core warmer or heater. This device is essentially an element that keeps ice from forming on the core. It is controlled by a defrost timer and a thermostat. Once the timer reaches a set interval, it will initiate the warmer/heater to defrost the evaporator core. This mechanism will keep the core free of ice, which in return, keeps the unit operating as designed. The second type of "warmer" is a water line warmer or heater. This is a thin copper or steel line that is wrapped around the inlet lines inside your unit. This type of warmer/heater keeps the inlet lines from freezing over inside the unit. If the line freezes, they cant transfer water to the dispenser and ice maker. This style of warmer prevent s these important lines from freezing over.

Additionally; some side by side units have divider warmers to keep the condensation down that can form in the summer months. This type of warmer is mounted inside the frame, near the divider, and is an automatic functioning device.

Butter warmer problem

The problem for Butter warmer not working was as I suspected the internal workings of the regulator slider that adjusts the temp for the butter warmer it's self. The regulator intenals get a sort of burnt ember on them from something similar to a couple of positive and negative wires connecting causing a sorf of short. I have an electrical tech nearby who opened up the regulator to find and use a small wire brush and scraper removed the burnt on gum. It returned the warmer to working immediately upon re-installation and is still several years later, working a treat.
I am disappointed to note that in stores we have checked to upgrade our fridge all say that no models have the butter warmer anymore. Hence we are holding on to our fridge.
