I had a similar problem with a NEC LCD1935, and I traced it to the inverter board which was a Lien Chang LI-2190 ... it seems that common problems with this type of board are bad solder joints due to the temp. cycling, or blown capacitors, but I was too lazy to resolder everything so I just disconnected the BL signal line that goes between the main board and the inverter board, and this solved the problem. In my display it was a green line, marked BL on the inverter board -- I removed it from the connector and just taped it off.  I'm guessing that this is a blanking signal that the invertor uses to signal to the main board there is an overcurrent situation and that the display should be blanked/shutdown.
I'm certain that there are still problems with the inverter and it might go again, but at least I have a working monitor for the time being.
Caveat emptor.

I have a NEC Accusync LCD52V, I got the same problem. I solve this problem removing pin 4 from CN201 connector located in the "VGA" controller board (board p/n 715G-1350-3-GM). I just took out the connector and insulate it.

Either the internal power supply unit or the backlight inverter has failed. If you look really closely at the screen after it shuts off, if you can still see something moving on the screen (eg, your mouse) then the backlight needs to be replaced. If it is completely blank, the power supply needs to be replaced.

This repair is difficult and can only be done by a technician.

The only I can think of is the resolution setting that your T400 is putting out that your NEC does not like andcannot display, look at the T42 resolution when the NEC is hooked up to it and try to set it to be the same in the T400.

Multisync LCD 1700V turns on then screen goes blank and shuts off

Does the power light stay on? If so, you have an inverter problem. If the power light goes off, you have a power supply problem.

My monitor not stay on

Very common for this model that top backlight globe goes faulty. Can be also inverter PCB fault. If you have couple spare lights connect them to your inverter instead of panel lights and see if fault remains.
