Hi, Could be a run capacitor on the fan motor. They usually swell up and or leak when they go bad. If not, the only real way to test them it with a specific capacitor tester. A new capacitor would be cheaper. Make sure that the outside unit is disconnected from power before opening it up, try to spin the fan blade by hand. If it doesn't spin freely it may need oiled if possible. See above solution. Your problem is the fan motor though so if this don't do it, It will have to be replaced. if your power vent moter is not running you should not have have glowing ignitor.Frist the vent moter must close an air prove switch in series with the idnitor .seems you have a stuck air prove switch.Its the one with a hose attached

the fan you hear come on at a call for heat is most likely just the inducer motor. the click you hear is probably the relay for the hot surface ignitor which should glow red, then in turn ignite the main burners. your going to have to determine if the ignitor is coming on. if it isnt the ignitor is bad and will need to be replaced. if it comes on and than shuts off after a few seconds the ifc board is probably at fault

Replace the run capacitor. It is a silver cylindrical object located in the electical compartment of you outside unit. There is most likely three places on the top where different color wires are attached. One is marked F,or Fan. The center should be marked C, or Common, and the last should be marked Herm, with wiring to the compressor. Make sure you write down or label each wire you remove and it's correct location. They must be installed on the new part just like they were on the defective part. For you to know which dual run capacitor you need, the old one will have printed on the side either 370, or 440 v,as in volts. You must also need to know the microfarad rating and it is also printed on the side with the voltage rating. Since this is most likely a dual(runs fan and compressor) you should see two ratings abbreviated as mfd. Something like a 5mfd for the fan motor and perhaps a 35 mfd for the compressor. CAUTION !!! This device has line voltage and you must insure the power is off at the disconnect/ breaker BEFORE you begin the repair. Sounds complicated but really only takes a few minutes. The main thing is getting the right mfd and voltage ratings for the new part and keeping a record of where the wires were mounted on the old one, and putting them back the same place on the new part.
