Lexmark prevail pro 704 won't print

Printer still wants to copy, but when I try printing it does not react, tried reinstalling and get an error printer busy, checked printer cartridges already, replaced to be sure, printed allignment page but still doesn't want to print

This message appears also when the head is the right 1, but the connectors are dirty Try this solution ? fill a flat bowl with warm water (not too hot!!) For about 3 millimeters and put the ink head inside so only the connectors will be in the water for about a minute or two Wipe the whole head well, try cleaning the connectors a little and reassemble it Good luck

i was having these same exact problems then i looked at my old ink cartridge and saw that the blue tape was off and that i hadnt taken it off my new one i was trying to print with.!!!

SOURCE: Lexmark 2470 only prints 1 page out of 10 pages!!!!

You may have to change the communication format called the "Spool format."

Please follow the steps given below to change the spool data format:
1. Click on "Start," "Control Panel," "Hardware and Sound" and "Printers."
2. Then, right click on the Lexmark printer icon and left click "Properties."
3. Either on the "Advanced" tab or the "General" tab for some models, there is a "Print Processor" button, left click it.
4. This is the spool format setting. Under "Print processor" it should be set to "Lexmark 2400 series print processor." Next, under "Default datatype," select "NT EMF 1.008."
5. Click "OK" and exit back out to your desktop.
6. Please try printing again.
If this does not help the situation, please describe any differences it does make.

SOURCE: Can't print from local printer using remote connection

To print the reports on your local printer, go to
1.Start->Run->
2.Type 'mstsc' and click 'ok'. A window pops up for Remote Desktop Connection
3. Click 'Options' button and select the 'Local Resource' tab.
4. Select the checkbx 'Printers' from the 'Local Device'
5. Click Connect.

could be the document size or not enough memory or if you are printing from a network could be network traffic... try deleating the current driver software and reinstall the new software using the disc that came with the printer

Printhead error, have cleaned it, new ink on Lexmark Prevail Pro 705.

Lexmark previl pro 705 - paper jams or it says it is jammed when it is not also says paper tray removed when it is not


Try to remove the sheets of paper from your printer. Unplug and re-plug your printer into the power source to reset it. When the printer turns on, load some paper but don't overload. Try to print again. If error continues, please contact Lexmark technical support for additional assistance.

When I try to print I get an error and it won't print. The error message never shows up so I don't know what the error is. I have removed and reinstalled this printer 6 times now. I have rebooted...


Sounds to me like a bad USB cable,
Also when you're re-installing the printer are you using new/different drivers?

I would try a new cable and the latest drivers direct from Lexmark.com

Hi there,

Check the settings of your printer, either in the software that came with it or the printing preferences in the Control Panel. If your ink tone is set too dark, it could be using a lot of ink. If this is not the case, then:

1) Clean the ink cartridges
2) Replace the ink cartridges as they may have expired. 3) Replace the printer and find one which uses cartridges that can perform more copies in a single fill.

My Lexmark prevail pro 705 has stopped printing anything colour even after i have replaced all the cartridges??


This article on How to Troubleshoot the Vizix Ink Technology will help fix print quality problems on your printer. To run the Deep Clean Printhead function on your printer -> on the printer operator panel, press Setup -> Maintenance -> select Deep Clean Printhead. Your printer will then print the test page. Printer want print


Hmmm i think i need a bit more info... have you tried using the copy function? Check the Lcd screen for error msgs? If the copy function works and there are no error msgs then i would suggest a uninstall and then reinstall of the driver:

Use this updated driver direct from lexmark. During the install it should print a test page.

If the test print does not work then try a different usb port.
