SOURCE: I have a Sunbeam digital

I left mine in a hot tub for well over an hour. It started reading room temp at about 125 degrees. It worked for me to put the thermometer in the freezer until the readings were correct. hope this works for you.

I have a remote meat thermometer unit. I don't have the sensing tip that goes into the meat. How can I get a replacement

Most of these are generic. If you don't have a local BBQ store, try searching "bbq replacement probe" at Amazon. If you know your thermometer's model number or name, you can add that to your search.

Meat weighs 2llb 20oz how long should i cook it for we like it medium rare ?

The best thing you can do is to buy a BBQ digital thermometer that you place in the meat during cooking. They have a heavy duty wire with a temperature probe on the end. Sear the meat directly over the coals (or hot side of a gas grill), then move the meat to a cool side and then insert the temperature probe and close the grill lid. Cook until it reaches desired temp, for me 125 degrees is perfect. The total cooking time is hard to judge as it depends on your grill cooking temp, but the digital thermometer takes all of the guesswork out of the equation as to when the meat is done.

Masterbuilt smoker error message EA2

EAA2 means connection to the meat probe is lost. Either a broken, burnt wire or the probe itself. Check the probe wire carefully to spot a break.

No current temp

Inside the battery case is a "reset" hole. Use a paper clip and push it in while the temperature probe is on. The screen will flash and the unit will synchronize once again with the probe.

Unit beeps continuously

I had the very same problem and some web research suggested my unit was dead. However, I called Brookstone and they informed me that a faulty probe is typically the problem. I ordered a "Replacement Probe for Grill Alert (SKU# 558783)" which cost $15 (plus shipping and tax). This solved my problem, was well worth it as I like the Grill Alert, and I cooking turkey tomorrow!

Steve, these thermometers have been plagued with problems and short of a total replacement of the thermometer module, there is not quick fix. Since yours is new and and still under warranty, contact the R H Peterson Company, the manufacturer of Fire Magic Grills (800) 332-3973 and ask for Technical Service. As they are the ones who make the determination on a total replacement of the module or not. Be sure to have the grill's Model Number and Serial Number handy, when you call.

Thanks for choosing FixYa.

I have an Mi212 remote meat thermometer and it no longer gives me the temperture only 3 initials like KKK something like that which looks like a code.

I had the same problem with mine. As soon as I replaced all 4 batteries, hit the reset button on the probe unit, turned both off, turned the receiver unit on, then turned the probe unit on, it started working fine.

Does not heat up. When lid is closed with all burners on it only heats to 250*

Either the grill's thermometer is faulty or the grill's regulator is partially locked up. Let's a dress the latter, first.

1. Turn the gas grill tank's valve OFF.
2. Disconnect the hose from the tank & wait 5 minutes.
3. Reconnect the hose to the tank and open the tank valve VERY, VERY SLOWLY (Slow motion,
4. Once the valve is fully open, light the burner farthest from the tank first and turn it to High. Does
the flame height look correct? If so, light the remaining burners the exact same way. Do all the
flame heights look correct? If so, you may have solved the problem. Close the grill's hood and
allow it to preheat for at least 20 minutes. If the temperature goes above 250 degrees F, the
problem is solved.

If the above didn't solve the problem, buy an inexpensive oven thermometer, that would usually set on an oven rack. Except, you're going to place it on the grill's cooking grates. Preheat the grill with the hood closed for 20 minutes, then check the grill thermometer. After which, open the hood and look at the oven thermometer. If they read the same, then you will need to replace the grill's Hose/Regulator Assembly. If the Oven thermometer reads significantly hotter, then it's a faulty grill thermometer. You can either replace it, or just continue to use the oven thermometer, like I do.

If you need to replace the Hose/regulator Assembly, you can pick one up at any home center or hardware store that sells grills and accessories for about $30.00. Take the old one with you for comparison purposes.

I hope this helped you troubleshoot and solve the problem. Please let me know & Happy Grilling!!

I'm a smoker expert having entered in competitions. Thermometers built into the lid are inaccurate because you want to measure the temperature at the same level the meat is at. Heat will rise and will give you a false reading at the top of the lid. Get a digital thermometer that has a cable and a probe on the end. Cut a small potato in half and stick the probe through it so the point exits the potato and is balanced when it sits on the grill. Then run the cable outside to your thermometer. Shade the thermometer from bright sunlight. If you don't want to do this you can simply get a regular thermometer that will measure at least to 225 or more. Stick the thermometer in the top vent of the smoker or if there is no vent just drill a small hole in the lid. Put the thermometer through the vent or hole in the lid and add 10-15 degrees to allow for heat buildup. Example 240 degree thermometer temp will be about 225 at meat level. You may have to experiment with these readings. Happy smoking! Go to my favorite website for smoking.....Google search " Virtual Bullet" and you should be at the Weber Bullet site. Hank
