SOURCE: the camera can not download pictures in pc

Hello and welcome to FixYa

Please go to a electronics store and buy a USB card reader. I bought one last week and it cost $0.5 so its cheap as dirt. Then simply remove the card from your camera , pop it into the reader and the pictures will appear on a drive like a flashdrive in your my computer folder.

This is a much better option than using the camera's cable as it is faster , safer , saves on your camera battery and you don't need to install any software or drivers.

The card reader will most likely also still be compatible with any new camera you buy in future.

Kind Regards
Andrea

How do I download onto a usb

Always when you want to connect a device via an USB connector to the computer, FIRST install the software belonging to the device, than connect the deice.
The computer can't know what to do with a device when you hook it up to one of its connectors.
For camera's it is not only the computer must recognise the device, but you want to retrieve pictures out of the memory, you the computer has to tell the camera, to give access to the files it contains. Then most brands deliver special software to handle your pictures.

My JV300 wont upload pictures onto my PC

Try NOT connecting your camera to your computer.

The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.

Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use any photo cataloging program such as Picasa.

I cannot transfer picture to memory card how?

Connected the camera with the USB cable at pc, open Explorer pc program to view like a "external device", select your files and copy/paste en each folder.

Other way could be using some external device to your SD Card.

I cannot download photographs from eos 400D - says the device is unknown and USB is malfunctioning. It has been more than 6 months since I last downloaded photos and I had no problems. NOthing has...

Well, yes something has changed if the computer you are using is connected to the internet then it has had several auto updates to the software and or security anti virus.

Okay here is what I'll suggest. Uninstall the camera software and reinstall, go onto the Canon web site and download any (all) firmware updates for your camera and bring your camera back up to date.

Down load your pictures as normal.

If this doesn't work purchase a memory card reader and step around the camera all together, the card reader is plugged into a computer USB port and the memory card plugs into it. Make sure you get a card reader that has the correct port for your memory card.

The computer looks at this card reader as an external hard drive or Mass Storage Device.

You can then download your pictures to a file folder on your computer and open that folder in the camera software.

Myself I don't use the camera software it's generally clunky and offers far less control over the picture then what the industry standard for image manipulation offers.

Any Photoshop program from Elements to CS5 will offer far more control then any camera software. The nice thing about a card reader and Photoshop is that you can change cameras and the programing and card reader stay the same. This system doesn't care what name is on the wrapper (camera)

Cheers have a great time with your camera

My kodak easyshare M580 wont download onto my computer. where am i going wrong?

DEAR SIR,

The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer can be done by two means....

1.INSTALL THE SOFTWARE C.D GIVEN ALONG WITH THE CAMERA IN YOUR NOTE BOOK....
THEN SWITCH ON YOUR CAMERA AND CONNECT THE CAMERA TO YOUR P.C VIA U.S.B CABLE,AND WAIT FOR FEW SECONDS FOR THE P.C TO DETECT YOUR CAMERA,ONCE THE CAMERA IS DETECTED IT WILL ASK YOU,WHETHER TO COPY YOUR CAMERA IMAGES TO YOUR P.C

2..Remove the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.

Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive.

thank you..take care

I am trying to download photos to my pc. All plugged in the the Device Connected box ins blank. Any ideas - its driving me nuts!

OK, when I use my Kodak Easy share cameras on a fresh computer that hasn't downloaded Kodak pictures before I do the following:

Load Easyshare software onto the machine, and install it.

Then, I connect the camera to the computer.

Then, I open the Easyshare software and it may ask a few questions.

Next, I watch the computer (Windows 7) as it loads the proper driver for my camera.

Finally, I click on transfer pictures and I am set with my pictures.

The pictures should show up in the Start Menu's picture under Kodak Pictures.

You should be done.

Let me know how it works out with the Easyshare software downloaded to the computer before trying to load pictures on to the computer.

How do i get my pics onto my pc, i lost my software cd

Hi DavRos,

Even without a software, you can still download your pictures. If you have the usb cable for your camera, connect it to your computer's usb and turn on the camera. The computer will then recognize the new usb device. Go to My computer and look for the drive letter associated with your camera. Click or double click to open that drive and look for the folders that contain your pictures. You just have to select the pictures and copy or drag them to your local computer.

If you need further assistance, let me know. Good luck!

Downloading pictures from my camera to my computer

1. Connect camera to PC and turn it on.
2. Computer will try to install the drivers itself, in case it fails, please install the drivers from the disk that came along with the cam.
3. Open my computer and there you would see your camera under "Imaging Devices", double click on it and you will see the pictures there.
4. Copy and paste them as normal onto your computer,.
